The drawbacks men suffer from under patriarchy are also all directly linked to how they're broken and molded for their role as opressors. The suffering of men under the patriarchy is inseperable from how they are trained to inflict suffering upon others. There is no non-reactionary activism for men's rights that isn't just a specific angle of feminism, the one that is concerned with understanding and overcoming toxic masculinity.
Every time i could read closer into a story like this, it turned out there was some form of animal abuse going on. Keeping the dogs caged, beating them, training them for aggression, stuff like that. This isn't behavior you see with a dog socialized to be a family dog and emotional companion, this is behavior you see with an animal that had the misfortune of ending up with humans that wanted to turn them into a weapon.

I find it hard to consider Yglesias even a liberal, he's just the world's most bloodless fascist (and yes, this is coming from the perspective of somebody who is fully aware that liberalism is a bourgeois, right wing ideology). I do not know this dweeb, but when anybody finds it fitting to name him alongside that dingus, i think i'm better off not knowing.
Don't get me wrong, the CDU/CSU (biggest opposition party) does state they want to bring back concription, it's just that they'd have to form a coalition with the Greens, the SPD, or both, who are very clearly against this. The only way they could pull this off would be either a landslide victory that none of the losers leading the CDU/CSU right now could conceivably pull off, or a full descent into fascism where they form a government with the far-right AfD. This isn't something "Germany" considers, it's a pipe dream where right wing boomers can fantasize about pressing zoomers into military service.
