Just a quick reminder that Jim Jordan, by total coincidence, is also the chairman of the Subcommittee on the Weaponisation of the Federal Government:

Well someone has to make sure it's weaponized the "right" way.

[-] jscummy@sh.itjust.works 20 points 1 year ago

They have a whole subcommittee deciding how best to weaponize the government?

[-] Spendrill@lemm.ee 8 points 1 year ago

He got the job because of his experience. He's a complete weapon himself.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

weaponized idiocy?

[-] flossdaily@lemmy.world 50 points 1 year ago

Republicans are absolutely out of control.

Trump incited the insurrection, and now these guys are making themselves accomplices after the fact by obstructing justice on his behalf.

[-] bdesk@kbin.social 16 points 1 year ago

What do you mean "after the fact"?

[-] iyaerP@lemmy.world 24 points 1 year ago

They're committing treason now.

They committed it in the past too, but they're also doing it now in real time.

If no one in power stands up and challenges them they will continue to do whatever the hell they want.

50% of "conservatives" don't seem to give a fuck about rule of law unless it benefits them.

If someone is breaking the law regardless of political affiliation they go to court, and if they are found guilty they go to jail.
If we cannot agree on this one thing we are circling the toilet bowl and everyone with half a brain should get out of this country, I hope the rich fucks perpetuating this have some clarity when they are the next target.

I think this infuriates me so much. It's not just that so many conservatives have blatantly spit on our laws and democracy. Our liberal politicians have stood by and watched them do it. Yes, they may have started a committee to investigate, and they may say it's wrong, but these people literally tried to storm the Capitol and have continued to tear at the fabric of our nation and instead of taking a hard stance and being true patriots the liberals just sit there and go "oh no sweetie, we don't do that, it's not nice." Fucking bring the hammers down, stand up and get rid of this shit!!! You are the ones with the power. See that these laws are upheld! Stop shaking your heads and wringing your hands when nothing is done, because if it ends up coming down to the people having to enforce laws this country is over.

They also shriek in them same breath about criminals and how the country is going down the hole. But nooo... It's the black and brown criminals that are the problem not ours.

[-] Tedesche@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

The problem is between rich and poor, not white and brown. Racial conflicts are the distraction, don’t feed it.

And this is politics, not news. Try harder.

Good job. What is your point?
