"Your destination is on the left."

On my left: a wall, six lanes of opposing traffic, another wall, a two story drop, another two lanes of opposing traffic, the Taco Bell I'm trying to get to.

I've had GPS tell me to go across a river. Without a bridge.

You told it you didn't need a ferryboat.

[-] GrymEdm@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Bet you that adds to the arrival time though.

[-] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Kids these days don't know how to ford a river properly.

How about an "I don't want to arrive early, I want to drive lazy" setting. I don't need to shave off 5 fucking minutes making a tonne of turns or taking toll roads or going 80mph / 130kph.

Set it to walking directions. Then you can drive through the mall like the Blues Brothers. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Yeah, or conversely a rush mode that removes exploratory routing but you can't use it all the time (since it needs to send people down roads it considers less optimal to determine traffic and confirm that they are indeed less optimal).

It's annoying when I decide to ignore directions and just stay where I am because I'd rather deal with slower traffic on the highway than go through some town's industrial area and then see the ETA remove several minutes as a result.

On a tangent note: Why did anyone thought to abbreviate it to kph? kilo per hour doesn't make any sense. It should be kmph or KM/H kilometres hour. Kilo is just a SI-Prefix and Meter is the actual unit.

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Fun will now commence.
