I know, I know, USUALLY when a headline asks a question, the answer is always "NO!"

In this case, someone ran down the source of Britt's sex trafficking story, and it did happen...

In Mexico...

When George W. Bush was President.

So this woman is randomly making up shit about little girls getting repeatedly raped in response to the State of the Union address. Disgusting.

[-] jordanlund@lemmy.world 77 points 6 months ago

Well, it's not random. They want to blame Biden for problems at the border by telling the true story of an abuse victim from 20 years ago who never crossed the border.

[-] agent_flounder@lemmy.world 35 points 6 months ago

how could biden let this happen

[-] Blooper@lemmynsfw.com 25 points 6 months ago

Specifically during the Bush administration. How could he?

"It's because he was too old, even more so 20 years ago." - certain news media, probably

[-] DBT@lemmy.world 9 points 6 months ago

THANKS OBAMA

while ignoring the border bill that would address EVERYTHING THEY WANTED. Amazing.

[-] Boddhisatva@lemmy.world 37 points 6 months ago

Worse still, she is doing it to help an admitted sexual abuser* and adjudged rapist** elected to the highest office in the land.

* Grab them by the pussy" tape.

It's very on-brand for the GQP.

This guy does a really good investigation into it and brings receipts. (I know it’s on the Artist Formally Known As Twitter, but if you’re interested, it’s a good watch.)

Copy it over here for those of us that would prefer not to visit that cesspool.

[-] Nusm@yall.theatl.social 12 points 6 months ago

Unfortunately it's a Twitter video, and the only way to download it is with a premium subscription. And that is NOT happening. Hard stop.

[-] DABDA@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago

the only way to download it is with a premium subscription

This doesn't help you on a mobile device, but in case others weren't aware of its existence, there's a great open source tool for downloading from many/most websites: yt-dlp

[-] jordanlund@lemmy.world 8 points 6 months ago

It's a video link, but basically, he ran down the visit to Texas she talked about, found out the other politicians who went with her, then found out who they met with.

[-] Bob_Robertson_IX@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago

And for those of us who can't visit the cesspool.

[-] vegeta@lemmy.world 37 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Well, if the poor woman who suffered the horrible abuse starting at the age of 12, it had to have been at least 6 years ago (assuming she is an 18 y/o adult now). This places it under Trump or earlier in any event.

[-] S_204@lemm.ee 21 points 6 months ago

If this bitch was blonde she'd be working at Fox News instead of for the heritage foundation.

[-] A_A@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago

Calling her a bitch is an insult to female dogs.

[-] TheControlled@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago

Like any of them are real blondes...

Thanks, hadn't seen the Pinocchio unit of measure before but she apparently earned 🤥🤥🤥🤥.

[-] Hikermick@lemmy.world 13 points 6 months ago

Watered down headline. "Trump supporters" say dumb stuff all the time. She is a US Senator

[-] Ekybio@lemmy.world 11 points 6 months ago

I watched around 60% of the neural missfires contorting into words spewing out of her facehole.

Her vibe alternates between:

  • condescending mom scolding her children for asking what gay means or why god tolerates evil in the world if she were real

  • "please dont hit me again, I was wrong as always in questioning you my sweet loving husband"

  • You should all be afraid because the West is falling, again, for real this time, pinky promise, I swear on my dead mothers grave

Queue the pavlovian response from the average republican voter, like a dead frog poked with an electric prod.

[-] TheControlled@lemmy.world 8 points 6 months ago

Idk nj.com, how about you just fucking tell me in the headline to not sound like a weasel.

[-] OneMansTrash@lemmy.ml 8 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Fun rule of journalism, 'Betteridge's Law' : if a headline asks a question, the answer is almost always 'no'.

Edit: lmao even the writer mentions in the first line. I mean why even try to argue your point after that?

[-] jordanlund@lemmy.world 19 points 6 months ago

Because even though the event itself was not a lie, attempting to frame it as negative to the Biden administration was? 🤔

[-] snooggums@midwest.social 5 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Probably and most likely nothing will come of it.
