Drag him for being a Marine too.

[-] Mizokon@hexbear.net 1 points 2 years ago

They were working like 10-20 hours a week right?

[-] MeatfuckerDidNothing@hexbear.net 1 points 2 years ago

Ugh the Ana thing: no, it isnt ableism to be mad at someone who:

  1. Claims a position of moral superiority and works at Lockheed Martin

  2. Claimed to live entirely off of patron and donations from poor trans disabled folks while literally working at Lockheed Martin and owning a 400k home

  3. took part in justifying the harassment of Isabel Fall.. perhaps because her story was about the weaponization of queer identity by the military industrial complex

That people are comparing this to like... unreasonably canceling any other trans person kinda sickens me. There is a difference between being fucked up and doing fucked up shit (or not actually, just people making shit up about you) and being a collaborator in weapons manufacturing

Once I was offered a job out of college at a defense contractor. I did not take it because guess what I'm not a ghoul. Even then when I was 99% lib I was like nah don't wanna make weapons seems gross.

[-] zifnab25@hexbear.net 0 points 2 years ago

Why work for a defense contractor when you can be just as evil and get paid more working in finance or tech?

[-] Wildgrapes@hexbear.net 1 points 2 years ago

I'll have you know I turned down big money at the defense contractor. They offered me $.76 more than the job I took instead.

private sector companies won't even look at you

Dumbass you submitted a resume that consisted of "They made me a killing machine" misspelled and in crayon.

Also this is demonstrably untrue, lots of companies like hiring vets.

Every manager I've worked for thinks being in the military means you're the best employee ever, lol.

[-] Foolio@hexbear.net 1 points 2 years ago

It kinda is because it implies you're either desperate or stupid.

[-] LaughingLion@hexbear.net 1 points 2 years ago

accustomed to following orders

he might have applied a few places and got blanked but that's just what applying for jobs is like

[-] spectre@hexbear.net 1 points 2 years ago

Lol like he's applying on easy mode which means that instead of hearing silence for 100 applications and then getting an interview, you hear nothing from your first 10 and then get the job from a "vet-friendly" company. I guess it's difficult to see that if you only apply to 3-5 places though lol

Our mighty troops must be made car dealership owners immediately after bootcamp!

[-] Dingus_Khan@hexbear.net 1 points 2 years ago

And sell the overpriced Camaros and mustangs to the new recruits, so the cycle can continue

[-] Rod_Blagojevic@hexbear.net 1 points 2 years ago

Dodge Challengers are hot right now.

[-] keepcarrot@hexbear.net 0 points 2 years ago

I'm curious as to what skills would get you hired at Lockheed which couldn't get you a job anywhere else

[-] ssjmarx@hexbear.net 1 points 2 years ago

There isn't, but the idea that they have to become cops or work for a military contractor when they get out is drilled into troops' heads while they're in so it doesn't come from nowhere.

Lift the ban on trans people in the US military

:trans-sad:

Apply a ban on people in the US military across the board without discrimination

:party-sicko:
