We definitely recommend more than just one parsnip, though!
Thank you! 👍
Oh, hey, we have this in Ukraine too! Looks tasty!
Слава Україні!
Героям слава! ❤️
My 80 y/o grandmother is from Germany, she makes something like this and it's my favorite comfort food ever.
Hell yeah! It's so filling and warms the soul. 🤤
A perfect choice for a hot summer!
Lol this is from last winter. I never got to share this on reddit because of ~~fascists~~ I mean, moderators having weird criteria. Pretty sure it was a case of a powermod. Anyway, I'm just getting used to Lemmy and I love my wife and her cooking, and wanted to share. I wish I could share the actual food so yinz can see just why I rave about her cooking! 🤤
Yeah, kapuśniak is a great filling and warming dish, good for you for having a wife like this!
Looks real good - I make something similar (but probably the total opposite) and wondered if you brown the sausages before adding them to the rest of the ingredients? I never really do because it's an extra pan to clean, but open to trying it.
If you're gonna brown the sausage, do it in the same pot you cook the rest of the food. Drain as much of the grease or oil as you like, and cook the food as normal. Any black or brown stuff in the pot from frying is going to be extra flavor for your food.
Fuck me. Never thought of doing that, I'll try it later tonight. Thank you !
Pretty sure she doesn't brown it first, but I get chased out of the kitchen when she's cooking so I don't know lol. It's polish kielbasa, cabbage, parsnips, celery, carrots and onion. She's 100% Polish (imported to the US via adoption from Warsaw at a very young age) and dead set on becoming a true babcia. Help me, I'm getting fat! (Actually never mind, it's too delicious...)
Help me, I’m getting fat!
I too choose this man's wife. 😏
