I'm not talking high, I'm not talking vibing, I mean absolutely covered in cookie crumbs baked.

Sometimes, it's nice to come home from an awful day at work, smoke a toke, and forget about problems for a minute.

I usually would just continue playing whatever game I'm actively into at the moment. But when you're sitting there covered in cookie crumbs, maybe trying to figure out how to play Boulder Gate 3 might be too tedious for the moment.

Vampire Survivors is what I typically play, but sometimes it's nice to have more than one option.

Minecraft playing as a nomad. Just watching sunsets over a mountain and sleeping in a giant mushroom.

Stardew Valley, No Man's Sky and Tetris Effect

[-] timespace@sedd.it 8 points 1 year ago

I got reeeeallllly baked once and played NMS with a couple friends for the first time. I got lost/stuck in a dark cave for a solid 20 minutes.

It was hilarious and we still bring it up once in awhile.

10/10 would recommend.

As someone who’s never taken a drug in their life, I wonder what sort of reaction someone on LSD would have to something like Tetris Effect.

I mean, my nickname for that game is “Trippy Tetris”.

[-] jcg@halubilo.social 2 points 1 year ago

Can confirm Tetris effect is the ultimate high Tetris experience. Especially the way the music syncs with your moves, it's the ultimate synesthesia.

[-] Kwik@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

+1 to Tetris Effect. Play it with some good audio too, they really went hard with it. NMS is always a blast.

[-] Awkwardparticle@artemis.camp 4 points 1 year ago

I refer to NMS as 'Chillin in Space' I find it to be the perfect game.

[-] reverendsteveii@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 year ago

on that social media site we don't talk about there was an entire community called No Man's High. That's how great it is when you're torched.

[-] MojoMcJojo@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

These are the ones I've tried personally.

-Brotato It's like vampire survivor, but potato

-Subnautica The underwater visuals are perfect for baked brains

-Destiny 2 Go solo and just visit the different worlds, don't worry about quests or missions just enjoy the scenery and shoot things, occasionally. Without knowing what's going on there are a lot of neat secrets places to stumble into and some of the scenery is awe inspiring.

-Disco Elysium If you can read and toke, it takes you places

-Dorf Romantik Someone already mentioned this but it's worth it. Like a puzzle, but there are no wrong pieces

-Eufloria Not complicated, very chill. I don't know how to describe what it is...leaf seeds fighting each other?

-Lego Pick a franchise and there's a Lego game. Doesn't require much brain power and you always feel like your winning.

-Red Dead Redemption 2 It's like going for a walk in the wilderness from the couch

-Superliminal It'll bend your brain and is totally worth completing in one sitting. If you can't figure out what to do just look it up. The end is worth being high for. Kind of like Stanley Parable, but with 'perspective'.

-Stanley Parable Definitely try this one.

Peggle and Tetris effect are also really great suggestions. Tetris Effect has a really great reactive soundtrack.

Ones I haven't tried but think would work

-High on life

-Powerwash simulator

I don't know about Subnautica - seems like it might be a little too intense for me. Maybe ABZU? Same underwater theme/vibe as Subnautica without the pants-shitting terror

We don't know if he actually said it. We only know that he wrote that he would say it. And wrote it he did.

[-] HeckingShepherd@lemm.ee 7 points 1 year ago

Tetris Effect. Literally transports you to another world

[-] FartsWithAnAccent@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Not really a stoner myself but I bet the following would be good:

-The Catacombs of Solaris Revisited

-A Short Hike

-Placid Plastic Duck Simulator

-Untitled Goose Game

-Manifold Garden

-The Looker

-Peggle Deluxe

-Sable

-Genital Jousting

-Abzu

-The Stanley Parable

-Bugsnax

-Genital Jousting

Any video games you could also recommend?

[-] FartsWithAnAccent@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Yes, but you must prove you are at least 18 years old first.

[-] betamark@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Thanks for sharing. There's several on your list I've never heard of and I look forward to doing some research now. ☆

Hope it helps, I'm more of a beer guy but I figure they might be up your alley. They're mostly a mix of funny and relaxing.

Scarlet Tower - If you like Vampire Survivors, you'll love this

Bloons TD6 - Baked monkes popping bloons time

Driftwood - A really dope downhill longboarding game featuring a sloth

Calico - If you want something cute, a little bit like Animal Crossing but even more laid back

Root - If you're looking for multiplayer online board game (probably should do the tutorial not baked first tho)

Cookie Clicker - Enough said

[-] betamark@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

More great suggestions that I must check out. Wow, thank you!

[-] Hank@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago

For me it's Skyrim but finally it's a game you're so familiar with that you don't need any motor skills besides your muscle memory.

[-] timi@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

+1 for Skyrim!

GRIS. An absolutely gorgeous game with some relatively easy platforming and puzzles. It was published by Devolver Digital.

If you are lightly toasted ECHO can be a lot of fun. Great visuals and plenty of ways to cheese your way around puzzles.

Cloud Punk is a super chill cyberpunk taxi game. I don't think I ever felt stressed playing it.

[-] entropy@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago

Discovered Cloud Punk only recently and I completely agree - lovely little game. Gameplay itself is pretty chill and I really enjoyed the characters and storytelling. I feel like too many cyberpunk games are like "look at this rotten, desolate society based on greed and oppression" only to then go "fuck yeah, let's make it to the top of that pyramid of injustice" instead of questioning it.

I hope the developers can somehow keep that storytelling aspect in the upcoming sequel which looks much broader in scope, like a life sim set in the city of Nivalis.

Peggle, it's what I play while hitting my vape because you only need one hand to play.

[-] NAM@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Also Peglin, if you ever wanted Peggle but as a roguelite deckbuilder.

[-] nicman24@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

super hot would probably be fun

Rez: Infinite

[-] Cyv_@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Dorfromantic: chill satistying game about building a landscape out of tiles, and matching biomes/rivers to get more points.

Minecraft on peaceful: I like to do weird redstone projects in creative too.

Titanfall 2/old school shooters: its weird but I blast music and play stuff that I can do mindlessly. And for me that's deathmatch style shooters, where there's no objective or anything, the respawn time is short, and you just run aroind blasting stuff.

Open world games with time wasting sidequests: So most assassins creed games, corrupted zones/trials in HZD, wandering skyrim, etc.

Edit: forgot, Mario Kart, its just fun and silly and I don't mind just doing dumb shit and coming in last, so long as I hit koopa troopa with all the red shells because its dumb and I'm attacking him with his own brethren!

[-] GalacticHero@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari, maybe?

[-] mrfriki@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I play indies or roguelikes for this. It's the most similar to old arcade cabinets experience from back in the day: you play a match, 15-30 minutes top, if you feel like it, rinse and repeat, otherwise not a big deal.

I'm currently playing Hades. Dead Cells is even better.

[-] suckaduck@feddit.nl 3 points 1 year ago

Dave the diver. Definitely Dave the diver.

[-] GandalfDG@beehaw.org 3 points 1 year ago

Sayonara wild hearts

[-] TheRazorX@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

Rabbid's go home on wii. It's one of the better "turn off your brain and relax" games

Risk of Rain 2 and Diablo 4 have been fun to play while blazed lately. Actually set up Diablo 4 so I can essentially play with 1 hand and eat snacks with the other. Both are pretty chill

[-] NAM@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Mini Metro and Mini Motorways are pretty chill.
Both Katamari REROLL games.
Pretty much every Humongous Entertainment game.
DREDGE and WORLD OF HORROR if you want an exercise in slow-paced creepy bullshit tolerance.
Jet Set Radio is probably another solid choice, just for the music and aesthetic.
Beat Hazard for vibing to your music and some crazy flashy visuals. 2 has support for a bunch of major music streaming platforms, including YouTube.
Also like any porn game you can get down with.

[-] MJKee9@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

It sure makes inventory management in Baldur's Gate 3 more enjoyable.

[-] Drusas@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

Stardew Valley. Terraria.

[-] Varyl@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I highly encourage Dome Keeper, it hit me similarly to Vampire Survivors, but with just a bit more gameplay variety, once you learn the basics the back and forth between mining and defending is a rather enjoyable rhythm. And it plays like it was made for the Deck.

[-] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Katamari. Katamari every day. 5 or 10 minute bursts. So good

[-] jessvulf@pawb.social 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

single player

Vector - retrowave Hoover craft going for distance

DooM(1993 & 2 ) get some mods and go wild

Sonic mania

Multiplayer - sometimes you get high with friends

[-] Tag365@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 year ago
