Whatcha been playing?

I've been playing Castlevania Belmont's Curse. Really liking it so far! I was mixed on it at first but once you get to the castle the game opens up a ton and it's a blast

Finishing up some optional seasonal objectives in Diablo 4 Season 15. I did the grind for the cow level, and now I'm having fun moo-ing at as many people as possible lol!

The Collector's Edition awards for The Sinking City 2's kickstarter just arrived, so I've been replaying (for the hundredth time) The Sinking City before I tackle the sequel. I've heard it's very different from the first and takes away a lot of the investigative stuff to it, but I'm trying to keep an open mind about it for when I get to it.

Trying out Songs of Syx again - I bounced off it early on, but I don't think it had the tutorial when I tried it first. I'm really interested in getting into a colony sim that really cares a lot about settlement layout.

Also, now that my modded Gamecube is working, I'm going back to the best Animal Crossing game - the original US Animal Crossing. I assume a lot of it is my nostalgia, but I really do think that the later entries strayed a bit from the charm of the original as they gave the player more control over their town/city/island. I'm trying it with the Animal Crossing Deluxe mod adding in a bunch of QoL features from the later games and I think this might be perfect for me.

Atomic Heart through a share. They dropped the drm and there was an opportunity, so I took it.
160gb, part shooter, part puzzle platformer.

Game numbers can be edited directly and i did. Doubled weapon damage to reduce the grind and I'm ok with it. Bosses still boss and minions aren't a pain.

Npcs seem to be made annoying intentionally. It's a story feature and you'll probably end up disliking almost everyone, including the protagonist. The only real exception might be the built-in assistant, but because the plot quickly becomes apparent, that may vary.

Do I recommend it though? Hmm... Well, i wouldn't buy it myself, but it looks decently done to me. I will finish the main story (no dlcs), eventually. Relatively big maps and walkabouts.

Trails in the Sky, 1st chapter on my Steam Deck. Probably one of the best JRPGs I've played.

Continuing Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, I'm doing a lot of sidequests and whatever I find around the map, but I'm a bit worried I'm already close to the end (at least of the base game), from looking at the map and other stuff. I'm currently switching between fighter and warrior and having a lot of fun with them.

I'm trying Doom Eternal again, after dropping it when it released, but there's a lot that just feels off about it. I like the combat, and I think it's a pretty clever, but outside of that I kind of hate the level design, the platforming and the general presentation.

Playing Chained Echoes. What a sweet JRPG. Pure turn based, no timing shenanigans. Nothing deep in terms of combat but lots of neat parts to play around with. Difficulty so far is reasonable. Story’s good. Pixel art is gooorgeous. Definitely recommended if that’s your cup of tea.

Transport Fever 3 and I'm hooked! Very intuitive, challenging and complex.

How has performance been for you? I saw a batch of early reviews that sounded like there was a little bit of shakiness, but looking back now that doesn't seem to be the case.

on my main machine I have all settings max except 2xMSAA, 100% render resolution on 1440p with about 100 fps on a nvidia 3080 ti with an amd 9800x3d and sometimes I switch to a different screen with 4K and about 60 fps. I also sometimes play on my secondary machine with Intel Arc A770 and Intel i9-10850K at about 50-60 fps 1440p. reasonably big map with about 100 lines so far (I'm only in the year 1920 with slow calendar speed)
