Imagine if Telus took all the money, energy, research and professional expertise to do this and just applied it to making their business more affordable and beneficial to their customers

We all need to wake up to the realization that neoliberal capitalism is built to create greedy, profit seeking monsters that attack the market, attack competition, and pursue gains even if there is no actual economic growth.

We gave up Alberta Government Telephones for this fuckass company by the way.

BCTel was also sacrificed for the Telus Shareholders. I hope Saskatchewan keeps their reliable Sasktel.

It used to be Bell then Rogers now Telus has decided to take the lead of the rotating oligarchy that is the telco asshole club

They talk pretty tough for people whose critical infrastructure is usually only buried about 4ft deep.

CRTC should oblige by hammering regulations so hard on the carriers that customers won't need to complain about things, thus making it harder for them to file complaints in the first place.

Solve the problem, not the symptoms right?

In Montreal Telus health one year after the start of the Palestinian Emailed all their low key employees an Email saying basically « Israel have the right to defend itself ». Mind you most of their workforce at this level are immigrants that were not Jews. Fuckwit piece of shit

I made a formal complaint against them early last year because they kept billing me monthly even though my service with them was over. 4 months of it, and every month I would call and wait on hold and explain that I wasn't a customer and didn't have their services anymore. Then next month a new bill would come. I relentlessly tried to escalate to someone higher up who could actually understand what was happening, only for a new bill to come the next month.

My ONLY recourse was to file a formal complaint with the CCTS. If that's the last line of defense from a huge company and companies are trying to make it harder to be held accountable Im pretty sure it needs to be made easier. Ridiculous that they should even petition, acknowledge, or hint at any involvement with the CCTS beyond working to make consumer relations EASIER is a joke, borderline illegal.

Oh and I'll just add that filing a complaint with the CRTC wasn't exactly easy either. I had to do an extensive write-up outlining exactly my issue and how I tried to resolve it, including my attempts to talk to someone within Telus that could help me that wasn't a base level customer service agent. Then the complaint had to be reviewed before approved before I was contacted by anyone at Telus weeks later. Oh and by the way once I had a case specialist who understood the problem and assured me it was fixed - I received another bill. LOL.

Telus wants you to prove you've escalated the issue to a second level. Make it easier to do that then. Make that a real option when you call in instead of having to talk to an agent who's going to run circles around trying to troubleshoot an issue you know isn't going to be fixed without intervention.

You should be allowed to bill them for your time in a situation like that. Eventually fixing the problem isnt enough at that level.

Sasktel, Fizz, Tbaytel, Cooptel.

Freedom is the best choice outside of the Big 3.

IMO, its the best choice overall. I've been with them for a good decade and have only positive things to say.

I wish their security was better… that’s why I prefer Fizz for BC.

Im not OP, but that can often mean they arent using a secure 2FA like OTP codes.

Not having any, or only using sms can be a really big risk since your phone number can he a path to open a lot of security risks.

Its wild that for a long time (and maybe even still) banks only had sms. I was about to leave my trading account over sms only, but they ended up adding OTP.

Switch to Fizz from Telus, that will show the big wigs.

[–] 4TBHMeCCL@suppo.fi 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Except the problem is that Fizz has been worst for customers (who have been vocal).

See Fizz gaslighting clients via the CCTS now and Fizz has taken my phone service offline AGAIN after a CCTS complaint and $100 compensation. I'm done on the fizz mobile subreddit for the just examples.

In my opinion, the best thing to do is go with the cheapest prepaid plan you can, and switch carriers as you want.

I'm talking about how Freedom uses text 2fas and wanted to charged extra fees for security.
