Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

On one of my very first posts here (previous account) someone called me a MILF. And I just wanted to say...
How fucking dare you? I'm TWENTY years old, that's supposed to be young 😭

I mean, I do have MILF genes (sorry mom) and my female cousin has called my mother a MILF on several occasions...which is just plain weird, but I think that bodes well for me, lol 😂
My mom is fucking gorgeous tho. She's goals...which is a good thing, since I'm literally her child, I have her genes :3

My body, my face, my biological age...it's getting up there. I feel ancient already 🥲

I'm 28. I don't get to dress up really femme as much as I used to (work vs. university), but when I do I'm as cute as ever.

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 days ago

I love that for you! And I believe you! Keep being a cutie, teehee 🩷

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

You're young. You're fine.

[–] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 22 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Every femboi must grow up and become a femman.

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 4 days ago (1 children)

It's NOT twink death! It's twink maturity! Men age like a fine wine, I say :3
(Oh god, just kill me for this one, this was way too fucking much 😭)

[–] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 3 days ago

Men age like a fine wine, I say :3

But they do. I generally like aging (at least in other humans)

They all seem to grow more hair over time, which I like. And greying looks really good sometimes.

[–] azalea_flower@lemmy.blahaj.zone 32 points 4 days ago (2 children)

That image is one of the causes that lead to me questioning my gender. Twink death was a real fear and I was already experiencing it.

Also I saw an older picture of my mum recently, I assume she was in her early 20s in that picture and wow, I wish I were that pretty, I'll settle for what I can reasonably achieve though.

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 21 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Totally understand. Looking in the mirror at 19 and telling myself "You're aging...like a man" was what finally pushed me to get off my ass and get HRT.

Awww, girlie 🫂
You're so pretty tho! And you're NOT telling me you're past your 20s, I don't believe that at all. You're beautiful and super early on HRT! It'll only get better for you. You can "reasonably achieve" great beauty! 🩷

[–] azalea_flower@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Aw thanks 💜

And yeah, I'm not even in my twenties yet, so I have no right to say it's already over, but it's hard sometimes, especially with other curly haired girlies, I had the same gender envy literally yesterday lol because a girl from a TV show I was watching both did my their better and had really good makeup!

But yeah, thank you though, I do believe I'll see a girl in the mirror one day.

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 4 days ago (2 children)

I'm so bad at guessing people's ages, omfg 🤦‍♀️

Gender envy is totally real. Sometimes it's slightly painful, but sometimes it's an inspiration! At least...I think?

I do believe I'll see a girl in the mirror one day

You will. I already do (it's you!)

[–] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Why do you see other people in your mirror? 🤨 /joke

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 4 days ago

Aha. I haven't taken my schizophrenia meds 🙂

I'm so bad at guessing people's ages

me too don't worry, and to be fair I do tend to look older than I am

You will. I already do (It's you!)

omfg Miisha that made me really happy thank you 💜!!! I almost made a noise, I had to stop myself it's literally midnight lol

[–] Cris_Citrus@piefed.zip 5 points 4 days ago

Currently struggling with twink death 🥲 hadn't heard the term but its real useful

[–] WeLoveCastingSpellz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 4 days ago (1 children)

20 is def not a milf ur good lol. I am 20 so it must be young!

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 4 days ago (1 children)

OMG Rachel! It's you! The beautiful vampire hunter from my phone!
Well, if we're the same age...I feel a bit better, lol. Girl, you're so fucking pretty omfg 🩷
You legitimately look cis, no way around it. You're amazing 💜

[–] WeLoveCastingSpellz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 4 days ago (2 children)

I have better photos, but even with people telling me they see it...I never will. You don't have to share any photos of me, really. You're beautiful, you're passing and goals and that's that. End of story 💜
This sounds sarcastic, but I really mean it.

[–] WeLoveCastingSpellz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Omigosh just stalked your profile to see your face. You look adorable

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 4 days ago

Thanks...not really. But thanks 💜

[–] WeLoveCastingSpellz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Nuh uh I will not take that. IfI have to accept being beautiful as the end of the story than I would like to help see yourself as such too. I will be dming you and talking shit out and helping later

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I appreciate the effort, I really do...but I don't think you can fix this, sorry. I started late, my body has been ruined forever. I'll never be happy being this. I'm so sorry...

[–] WeLoveCastingSpellz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

No sorries. I have been there I know how bad it can get. I started late too. 20 is very much young even if you had started just now and hrt was quite slow for me so it hurts even if you know you might be yourself one day but you hate your "now". I started at 18 which is also after puberty. Sending digital hugs but nothing about you is broken nor unfixable

[–] snoons@lemmy.ca 18 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Curing ~~all age related diseases~~ twink death.

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 4 days ago

Estrogen to the rescue! Now for only 50$ a vial :3

MILF is a moving target. As a teenager it could have meant adult. These days (my 30s) it just means age appropriate and has kids, especially with a mom bod, except when it doesn't because it can also mean age appropriate for my parents but I'm hitting on her anyways.

20 absolutely isn't a milf unless you have kids, and even then… I'm not going to call you a baby, I hated when people did that to me at your age, but girl, in my country you can't even drink, for us you don't feel like an adult socially until 21. I started hormones at 20 and am barely not considered an early transitioner. I still rarely meet transfems who started as young as I did irl.

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Huh, thanks for clarifying. Surprise surprise, I do not have kids. No mom bod either, but there's an extremely slim chance that might change in the future (please 🙏)

it can also mean age appropriate for my parents but I'm hitting on her anyways

LOL, okay that makes more sense 😂

in my country you can't even drink, for us you don't feel like an adult socially until 21

Jeez...that age limit is 18 here and in many places in Europe. 21 is quite a culture shock.

I started hormones at 20 and am barely not considered an early transitioner

Same 😔
But...idk. It's up and down. One day I'm convinced I started early enough, the next I'm crying cause it's all over for me, I'm too old, I'm late, I'm done. It sucks tbh, badly.

Thanks for the kind response ❤️

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Yeah America is weird about stuff like that.

But yeah, being a middle transitioner is awkward because on one hand we got in pretty young and have it pretty great, but on the other hand we just barely missed much better odds, by only a few years. It's really easy to focus on the latter and miss the former.

Transition is slow. It's easy to miss what's happening and changing because of how slow it's going. Add in insecurity, anxiety, and being hormonal af, and you get the sort of worries I see from you. It's normal and common. Give it time, accept that the changes are happening.

Insteas focus on what you can do more for instead, stuff like voice training, developing a sense of style, facial hair removal, makeup if you're interested in it (I personally learned while recovering from bottom surgery though lol), etc. I really wish I'd focused more on voice training when I was too early to pass anyways. But also make a point to keep things unrelated to transition in your life, at some point you'll be done and it's good for you to not be picking those interests back up for the first time in several years.

[–] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 4 days ago (2 children)

btw, fembears should be totally a thing

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Is that effeminate, strong, fat, and hairy men or effeminate, strong, fat, and hairy women? Because if it's the latter I've been with a few and let me say, it was awesome.

[–] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 3 days ago

I meant the former, but both is great

[–] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Also. 20 is totally parent age. With 40 you already can be a grandparent

[–] isleepinahammock@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

"Can" is not the same as "usually does." The record for the earliest pregnancy is age five. I don't want to go around telling people 5 is normal parenting age.

The average age for a woman to have her first child in the US is 28.

[–] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 4 days ago

In my country it’s even 30. But the average doesn’t matter. The youngest parents you know matter more for considering people potential parents. There are a bunch who were in their early twenties. I know one who was 18, but I’m willing to consider that an outlier.

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Alright, alright, I get it, okay?! I'm old, stop rubbing it in 😭
How old are you then, clever internet stranger?

[–] WeLoveCastingSpellz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

20 is NOT parent age also ur being messed with. 20 is the first age a pregnancy is not a teen pregnancy even. You are very young

[–] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

A GILF in half a decade. I haven’t found any grey hairs … so far

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Tbh...I'm really stupid and don't know exactly what that means (I know what a GILF is), but I'll assume you're older than me

[–] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

GILF is grand*. That can bo basically anything from this list:

  • grandmother
  • grandfather
  • granddaughter
  • grandson

I see it mostly used for grandmother. There are more terms with collisions, DILF gets used both for dad and daughter

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Interesting 😂
This is much more intricate than I expected...thanks for explaining that...person of indeterminate age 🩷

(I actually completely respect preserving your own privacy, I'm just a nosy BITCH. Don't mind me :3)

[–] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 4 days ago

GILF would always be the older variant pretty much, I don’t think I’ve really seen the younger one used. There is daughter for when sb doesn’t really look like what is associated with parent age/look. Granddaughter is not useful in that context, since ?ILF is about the total age and not about age gaps

I’m a bit joking about the age you can be technically be a parent. But that is actually somewhere between 12 and 14. Even with just 16 year olds knocking each other up accidentially, 32 would be a reasonable grandparent age.

privacy

I just didn’t want to directly write the number. It’s really just 40-(10/2) in a few months

[–] Broadfern@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Oh girlie I’m sorry, idk what the commenters intent was but generally MILF is porn-slang for “doesn’t look 14.” 🤢 Which is silly af anyway, the occasional post I’ve seen you very much look like a young woman in her coming-of-age era (meant positively!).

It’s trite for a reason but I promise you 20 is so much younger than it feels for you right now. 20s are the roughest go of years, it does generally get easier as you get older and your confidence will blossom with you! 🌸

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 4 days ago

Than you 🩷
It was honestly extremely mean from them, but...idk. I hope things get better.

Thanks!
