My idea is that the Mother is Trans and this was her dysphoria hoodie she is reminded of the dark times of her life and how she overcame them

Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
I think this is the correct answer! Or at least, this was my interpretation
yes, that is boymoder chans hoodie. She's often just called "boymoder"
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=boymoder+chan&t=fpas&ia=images&iax=images
idk if that's the og intention but omg i hope boymoder gets to be happy someday
why do you doubt that? seems like a happy ending to me
oh i meant if it's supposed to be of boymoder or not
Agree but is it possible she's seeing that her child has some dysphoria too?
I thought she was wearing it when she was pregnant and she really wanted to have a son.
Idk what the original intent is but I’m consciously choosing to interpret it as being overwhelmed by feelings of “aww my sweet baby wants to be reminded of me” bc honestly if I ever got the privilege of having a kiddo in my life that’s exactly how that would go down
EDIT: I see the sweater text now lol oops eyes aren’t awake yet
I thought maybe it was an old sweater mom stole from an ex of hers back in the day that her child just discovered. But then I couldn't understand why she was crying over it. Yeah, the message of this comic is too ambiguous. I have no idea what's actually going on.
EDIT: The sweater text said "BOY" with the male symbol for the "O." Which I thought indicated an old boyfriend. But I'm assuming it's implying that Mom is trans and used to be a boy? I still don't understand the crying though.
it's a boymoder sweater, which is a 4tran (the trans part of 4chan) meme. "boymoder" being a trans woman who still presents as a man (or a boy)
so ya, mom is trans, and she's probably crying because the memories of being forced into masculinity as a trans woman aren't fun ones...
(this one is still so much better than the edit where the daughter says "dad" instead :/)
Is 4tran on the 4chan website? Cuz all the racist and sexist shit I've seen there make it hard for me to believe that that community could exist there without constant brigading
there's big offshoots on reddit, xitter and the fediverse but yes, a lot of it is on 4chan (the /lgbt/ board specifically)
and it's just as nasty as you'd expect
My initial impression was the old ex they might've lost?? The jacket foes have emo vibes. The boy bit feels like its emphasizing, because even if trans, gives me, "you look just like X when I met them" sort of vibe
It's a pretty awesome feeling to see my kids rock my old clothes and look totally cool in them.
