The game does not have local split screen. This is a big one, the game does not let you rebind keys or remap controls. There is no quick race function for single player. It also incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Denuvo Anti-Tamper with a 5 machine activation limit.

Looks interesting, but I think I'll be waiting for a sale.
I would have expected better ratings on launch. Not like I'm interested in this game, but the original was a ton of fun when I was a kid.
