/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symbiosis_(Star_Trek:_The_Next_Generation)

"Symbiosis" was filmed after "Skin of Evil", which featured the death of Tasha Yar, making this the final filmed episode with Denise Crosby as Yar until she reappeared in "Yesterday's Enterprise". Towards the end of the episode, as Picard and Crusher leave the cargo bay, Crosby can be seen waving goodbye to the camera behind them (timestamp 42:15, she is clearly visible above Patrick Stewart's left shoulder as the bay doors close). LeVar Burton later used behind the scenes footage from this episode in a feature on his show Reading Rainbow, in the episode "The Bionic Bunny Show"

I seem to recall Reading Rainbow show how they did the transporter effects (for tng anyways), unless that was another one and I'm too old heh. It was some stuff swirling in water shown over the people from what I recall but may misremembered that part but don't think so, I think I only saw it once.

Just had to add that from the last bit, perhaps same episode if I am remembering. Showing why reading is fun is needed, I have read so much and it was awesome. Even audiobooks can be similar. Burton is great, not just cause but it definitely highlighted him outside of Star Trek for me. Plus he is amusing in his self character bits in comedy for sure, Community for one is hilarious.

Yeah I enjoy Community and the Troy actor is great (mentioned due to his character's reason for Burton being in it), with being a funny stand up along with musician (or lyricalist/rapper unsure if different). Writing is quite well done overall, plus fun specials for Halloween and Xmas if that's your thing.

But it's always fun to see actors play themselves in comedies, enjoyed the tng actors in Big Bang Theory, yes cheesy comedy but sometimes easier than thinking too much.

I was first introduced to Donald Glover back when he was doing Youtube skits for Derrick Comedy, and I always wondered what happened to him until someone told me to watch Community
