He thinks they are supposed to work for him. Just like the Attorney General is supposed to work for him, and "his" generals should be as compliant to him as Hitler's generals were for Hitler.

He's such a goddamned jackass.

Seriously, he's one of the worst things to ever happen to America.

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 25 points 3 days ago (3 children)

The two thirds of Americans who support him by voting him in or not voting are the worst thing to happen to America.

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 17 points 3 days ago

He's a symptom of a larger disease

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 4 points 3 days ago

They're neck and neck.

[–] SailorFuzz@lemmy.world -4 points 3 days ago (6 children)

2/3 supporting him is a wild mischaracterization. You can't just assume everyone who didn't vote is automatically in support, that's wild. Like, immature mindset of a child, wild.

[–] kaidenshi@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago

The ones who didn't vote against him are de facto in support of him. They might hate him and rightfully so, but they didn't get off their asses and do something about it. They are complicit regardless of their political leanings.

I can't stand Kamala Harris, she's a cop-friendly wolf in sheep's clothing, she would not have been great for this country. But you bet your ass I voted for her because to either not vote or to vote for the current shitstain would have been far worse, as we see now.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 16 points 3 days ago

If they don't like getting blamed for him, they should've voted.

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 10 points 3 days ago

Those fuckers are more dumb than the Trump supporters. At least MAGA understands that voting matters.

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 4 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

no, they're definitely enablers.

Like seeing your neighbour punch his wife and not do anything at all, except saying they don't like that guy, or you know, giving a drunk friend their keys when they ask.

i assume like John Malkovitch you couldn't be ass'd to vote and you don't like being called out for your behaviour?

[–] Mantzy81@aussie.zone 1 points 2 days ago

Yes you can. In the US, due to the archaic voting system, you have two choices - Dems or GOP. Those who chose neither were making the choice the either is fine/bad as each other. That isn't support, but acceptance, which is just as bad.

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

I acknowledge that the Democrats have issues, didn’t acknowledge the whole genocide situation, and refused to field good candidates in favour of establishment ones.

But not voting against the guy who (known at the time) was going to make Gaza worse, had let millions of Americans die to Covid, ripped up alliances, planned to persecute trans and gay people, “mass deportations now”, “dictator on day one”, was a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, likely a core member of the Epstein ring, and tried to overthrow the US government is fucking insane.

I get that the dems used Trump to hold right wing policy at ransom, but I still cannot believe of the two options anyone would choose not to vote. Especially when it was known to be close.

[–] Armok_the_bunny@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

In defense of the Democrats, they were kinda screwed by Biden's refusal to step down

[–] SailorFuzz@lemmy.world -2 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

Youre attributing to malicious indifference what is more than likely just ignorance.

Youre mistaking your political involvement to be the standard as though everyone knows and understands the history of Israel/Palestine. Most people barely understand their own countries history. Most people don't understand economics or markets or politics. Its not their thing.

A lot of people are just not engaged with politics. And you can argue that's a position of privilege, but its also one of their ignorance. They're not as interested in it as we are here, that doesnt automatically mean they're uncaring evil enablers.

You can make the case that they should be more involved. But they're not hearing evidence and then willfully not acting on it.... they're not hearing anything. And if your position is "those people are the enemy" they're never going to hear you.

[–] Mantzy81@aussie.zone 2 points 2 days ago

You can argue ignorance for someone you don't already know. 2016 non-voters could be classed as ignorant. 2024 non-voters, not so much. Everyone knew what a Trump presidency was like by then, and this one has been even worse.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I don't give a fuck what their bullshit excuse was. At this point -- or at any point since at least 2020 -- not knowing what Trump is is civic negligence. He attempted a coup, for fuck's sake!

Non voters are motherfucking fascist collaborators and they deserve to be treated like collaborators!

[–] SailorFuzz@lemmy.world -3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Cool, totally sane person.

All youre doing is telling the those ignorant people that your position is judgemental and angry. Amd they're going to respond with "well I don't wanna associate with those people"

You can't shame someone into your moral position. Gay conversion therapy have been trying that for years. It doesnt work. It mostly just build animosity.

Youre doing the right a favor by making the left look so unappealing.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

Fuck all the way off trying to compare people who can't be bothered to have even a shred of the most basic common decency and sense of responsibility as citizens to victims of conversion "therapy!" What the fuck is wrong with you?!

The "you made me turn fascist by being a meanie" excuse is weak-ass invalid nonsense and you fucking know it.

[–] DrPop@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

I think what the other user is trying to tell you is that the delivery of your message is just as important as the message itself. Shame doesn't work, it just makes them defensive and dig in. It takes conversations not shit slinging.

[–] SailorFuzz@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Put it to you this way. I agree with probably most of your views, but the way youre talking to me, I dont want to have anything to do with you either....

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 92 points 3 days ago

If it's any consolation, I also regret he nominated them.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 49 points 3 days ago (2 children)

They've given him a LOT of his best wins, including his supposed immunity. What a big fucking whiney baby, complaining about the insignificant stuff he didn't get, instead of the important stuff he did get. He expected them to be carbon copies of Thomas, and just rubber stamp everything.

[–] kmartburrito@lemmy.world 18 points 3 days ago (1 children)
[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 1 points 2 days ago

I really wish some journalist would say that during one of his weak-ass pres conferences, when he goes off on one of his "Poor Me" tirades. Just straight up: "Dude, don't you ever get tired of being such a whiney little bitch? I know that EVERY American Citizen sure is. It's embarrassing, the other countries are watching, can't you just be cool? Jeez."

They'd probably never work in media again, but they would become one of the most famous journalists in American history, and a true hero.

[–] kylie_kraft@lemmy.world 46 points 3 days ago (2 children)

“They voted against me too often,” the president continued. “I gave them the position of a lifetime, and they vote against me often. They vote for me too.”

...

“So they have loyalty to Barack Hussein Obama. They have loyalty to Biden, even though Biden doesn’t even know who the hell they are. He wouldn’t know. He doesn’t even know what the Supreme Court is. And me, I gave them the chance of a lifetime, and it’s unfortunate what they did,” he said.

puddingbrain.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago (3 children)

LOL, he always goes back to his personal grievances. He hates that Obama was voted in. Him and so many other conservatives lost their fucking minds over Obama being in office. Not just one term, but two terms. He also cannot stand it that Obama and Seth mocked him at that White House Correspondents Dinner. Utterly humiliated him. He is still has raging butthurt over all of it.

Also, Obama was approved by so many more, had a much bigger and girthier crowd size, AND got a Nobel Peace Prize.

He also hates that he lost to Biden. He just cannot take it.

Surprised he didn't throw Rosie O'Donnell into the mix, too.

[–] BillyClark@piefed.social 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

If I was on the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, I'd push to give the next Nobel Peace Prize to Obama again.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Same. Just to make sure that Obama has one more than even the 1 that donnie stole from that woman.

Also, JFC, can you even believe he kept it? That fact alone is just....staggering.

And I'm sure he's someone that thinks participation trophies are stupid, meanwhile, he has something worth way less than a participation trophy. He is just beyond stupid.

He really is a complete embarrassment to the country, in every single way.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

That's okay, his biggest records are yet to come: First president to go to go to prison, first president to get executed.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (2 children)

First president to go to go to prison, first president to get executed.

Well, I'd much rather the first part. As for the second, I'm against the death penalty, but if the justice system felt that was truly the only way that conservatives would ever learn a fucking lesson here, then I would reluctantly agree with it.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 3 points 3 days ago

That's why I strike a middle ground on the death penalty. I think it is used far too much, and often for all the wrong reasons, but OTOH, I also believe that some people have EARNED their death penalty, and who are we to begrudge them their earnings?

It should only be used at the Federal level, and should apply to only a handful of cases in an entire decade, across the entire country. It should be reserved for the most heinous crimes, like serial killers, child killers, torture killers, child molester killers, etc., as well as those who have committed high treason. Even then, it should be reserved for those whose cases have no doubts by anyone at all. And before the execution takes place after a reasonable cooling off period, the entire case is automatically reviewed by a panel of judges before being carried out.

I don't like the Death Penalty, either, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a responsible place in our society.

[–] nymnympseudonym@piefed.social 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Some needs are better served by free individuals acting alone in a field in Pennsylvania, instead of a bubmbling government operation

[–] TryingToBeGood@reddthat.com 4 points 3 days ago

No doubt still pissed he lost the popular vote to Hilary, too.

[–] artyom@piefed.social 5 points 3 days ago

He literally does not understand that they're supposed to be independent and not just do whatever he says.

[–] Seaguy05@lemmy.world 28 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Don't they vote with him like 90% of the time. I can't find a reference but it's definitely good for the GOP to have those members.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 34 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, but even voting against him even once is a bridge too far for him.

[–] Seaguy05@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Mumble mumble... Equal branches of government or something

[–] Octavio@piefed.social 14 points 3 days ago

I regret it too, but for the opposite reason.

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

They turned out not to be the lapdogs he’d hoped for.

I mean, they are totally lapdogs, they just don't grovel and crawl to him like Natalie does

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

"They don't even offer to change my diapers, the jerks!"

[–] funkreddit@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 days ago

Natalie Harp the Donny Diapper dapper???

[–] artyom@piefed.social 9 points 3 days ago

These people have already waged irreversible horrendous damage on this country but that's not good enough for him...

[–] chillpanzee@lemmy.ml 8 points 3 days ago

Maybe he could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot them. He wouldn't lose any voters.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 3 points 3 days ago

I know how he feels.

[–] ghostface@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Let me document that, Trump and I agree on this, for wildly different reasons

[–] santa@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 days ago

If he regrets it, he should have them impeached and removed.
