/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

I could teach her

But she died in tar

It’s Star Trek, so neither would “win” until they both realized that they’re stronger together, and they walk away as allies.

Sorry, what were you saying again?

Ok so trying to work this problem out, don’t mind the shitty sketch.

But like

Yar lost to tar

Worf lost to a barrel

But a barrel can contain tar

So who beats whom?

Pretty sure there was an episode with Yar on some post apocalyptic world (can’t remember if it actually had her in it, or if it was the episode with her sister showing where they grew up) that had tons of barrels cause burning barrels and structures with barrels = post apocalyptic. As she made it out fine without barrel related injury, I’d say she could take a barrel in a fight.

So it stands to reason that since Worf might be able to take some tar. I mean he beat it by simply not fighting it aka not being present (the smart option)

Yeah, that’s my attempt at drawing a face with forehead ridges to represent Worf

Ok, so based on this diagram the barrel actually is the most powerful one, as it can fight both Worf and tar. Everything else can just beat one other thing.

Does this mean that Barrel should be the head of security?

[–] Jesus_666@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago

Nah, man. Barrel jumped Worf with no provocation. It's a loose cannon. You don't want a head of security with that kind of temper.

We don't know that.

The presence of an episode with the Data/Yar/fully-functional situation does not mean that nothing ever happened between Worf and Data.

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh yeah, Yar's got Data as a summon. That's a decisive advantage for her!

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 10 points 2 days ago

If they get summons, Dax is pretty good in a fight. But also sometimes it misfires and Alexander gets summoned instead

yar did get killed by simply getting telekinetically thrown to the ground. klingons are more robust than humans.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Yar wins. There's a reason she was head of security before Worf.

that reason is she was better than Worf.
