Dude's 74, and also awaiting sentencing from another trial he lost in California. Rot in prison, my guy.

He's already convicted. Just needs sentencing

Even if he doesn't have dementia, the threat of jail in 2 years would be doing him a number on his tiny brain

[–] tacosanonymous@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

As much as I hate that fucking pedo, he has not been convicted for any of his rapes.

[–] auzy1@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

He hasn't for his rapes.. But, he HAS been convicted of Tax Fraud. So, he's fucked regardless.

Thats how they got Al Capone...

Even if he only gets ONLY a month in prison, that will likely completely fuck him over. A lot can happen in a month when he can't easily interfere with investigations

He was convicted in civil court wasn’t he?

[–] auzy1@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Convicted of RAPE in a civil court. Yes.. Useless (and, he tried to dodge that)

He is convicted of Tax Fraud though. He's going to jail regardless.... And the uncertainty must be fucking with him.

Yes, but civil court can't send people to prison. He dragged his feet on paying the judgment so he got hit with interest as well.

[–] StabbingSky@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

The 34 felonies weren't in civil court.

Appearing in court in a wheelchair, Weinstein denied the allegations but apologised to "anyone I may have hurt by my actions".

"Look, man, I didn't rape anyone, but if my actions may have somehow hurt someone in a way that makes them feel like they were raped (totally weren't tho lol), then I apologize."

Wait until he releases a book: “I didn’t do it, but if I did…”

[–] Dvixen@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

Apologies aren't a fucking if/then function.

Finally this piece of shit is going away, now get the rest of them!

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

He's actually been in prison since 2020 and he's already served about 6 years of the 15 years announced today.

This happened because he was found guilty and sentenced. Then that conviction was thrown out and a new trial was ordered. This is the second trial outcome.

[–] breadsmasher@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

yeah but real prison or rich people “prison”

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The Tate brothers got real prison. There is some hope.

[–] MapleFawn@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Did they? Im OOL there, last thing I saw was that the UK asked for them to be brought there.

[–] Piatro@programming.dev 10 points 1 week ago

Yeah but last I saw he's miserable in a US prison because he's appealing being brought to the UK and being kept separate for his own safety which is driving him crazy. Oh dear how sad.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Trump's DOJ is still dragging their heels last I heard, but they're in custody in the meantime.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 9 points 1 week ago

I thought he was dead. Positive I've seen obituary for him, I guess it was just wishful thinking.

I don't think you need to pretend to have sympathy for him, even as a bit that ends in a second. This is more just a "good" moment.

[–] Abrinoxus@lemmy.today 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wonder what he did to piss off Trump?

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 6 points 1 week ago

not enough money to get a pardon, or he is a SACRIFICIAL lamb for the epstein files, so they dont look further into other people on the list.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 1 week ago

what his pretending to be "crippled" inst working in court anymore?

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Assuming he actually serves the time, that's a life sentence for him.
