Between pihole and unlock origin, I don't remember the last time I've seen an ad.
There were some ads that I have seen on YouTube that I found unsettling before I started using Morphe. They were basically taking some celebrities from where I live and using AI to put them in embarrassing situation that never happened with headline like: "You will never guess who was found naked at X place." I also hate the ones that use a celebrity and use AI to try to make them endorse a course or some other garbage.
Seriously, if I was one of the person in those ads, I would sue Google. I feel those ads being allowed on YouTube might give them some legitimacy for people that are not good at recognizing AI generated content.

Oh yeah, I'm never going back to the official YouTube app ever again, especially since they let those garbage ads go through.
One thing I really like is the sponsor block, not having to manually skip the sponsor segment make the viewing experience better.
Do not share ads. Mocking them is not combatting them. Talking about their failures is not combatting them. Do not share them for any reason. Block them. Destroy them. Do what you can to ban them. Nothing else. They are harmful and sharing them is spreading the harm.
95% of my watching and listening are ad free. So anytime I see an ad I think itβs cringy already.
That being said, ads for medications are the fucking worst. Playing on trying to treat a disease by going straight to the patient, who doesnβt have a medical degree. Showing shots of frolicking and loving life while the announcer quickly says all the side effects that are worse than the disease itself.
Thatβs then most cringeworthy to me.
For me it's kinda like every ad. They all assume I'm dumb and won't notice what they're trying to do. They're half the reason I stopped watching TV three decades ago π
If it at least is funny and make me laugh or at the very least transport some true basic facts about the product. But yes, they're rare. Most apply to emotions, and fuck you for trying to manipulate me in such cheap manners.
I liked that Toyota ad, where the car parked in 5 seconds, as long as the ad. Some of them are nice. It's just fewer and fewer nowadays
Early Hulu had an ad for water that went something like "our water is so refreshing it's removed the rest of your ads" and then there were no more ads.

This was sincere, not ironic. The commercial was already old when it was posted in 2009.
On the road, just a few minutes from my house, there's a banner for a burger place saying "the only burger that leaves Mia Khalifa with an open mouth", with a picture of her with her mouth wide open. Leaving with an open mouth is an expression here for leaving you speechless/shocked.
There was one that was super horny. It was like some cute chibi (?) Devil girl. There was some type of slime monster that she fights off and then it drags her in the bathroom and slams the door. Sounds follow that let you know what's going on..
It was for a puzzle game I think. Shit was so horny it was cringe.
