For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.
No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

It's the other way around! The only reason why X is valuable is all these people still on it!
Musk literally does Nazi salutes, buys elections and promotes white supremacy. Making fun of his hobbies isn't the appropriate reaction.
It's more the fact that he has no hobbies. He has no life. He spends literally all of his time obsessing over ways to twist the dreams of nerds into the nightmares of humanity, and fills in the gaps by bullying people he can't fuck.
Fascists are completely beholden to their pride, and it revolves around icons and leading figures. Insulting them is unironically a valid method of injuring them.
Now now he has hobbies. He pays people to play diablo for him. Gaming is a valid hobby.

If one is to take abrahamic philosophy as metaphor, paradise is not a place, but rather a mindset and state of being. Hell too is such a mindset/condition. It puts Jesus' famous quote about it being easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to pass through the gates of heaven, in a rather stark light:

As she walks along the Seine in 21st century Paris, Gillian Brauer reflects on her experiences as a student an all-women's college in the 1970s. As a young adult, Gillian was obsessed with her charismatic anti-establishment English professor Andre Harrow. Knowing that other girls preceded her does not deter Gillian from being drawn towards the decadent Professor Harrow and his French wife, Dorcas, the bisexual sculptor of primal totems.
Gillian begins living with the couple, who regularly drug her without her consent, often spiking her drinks with quaaludes. Professor Harrow and his wife promise Gillian that they will take her to Paris with them, but instead instruct her to remain at their home and act as a housekeeper in their absence. While they are gone, Gillian discovers that Andre and Dorcas have sexually explicit photographs of other young people that they have drugged and used in order to fulfill their own sexual desires. Towards the end of the novella, an intoxicated Gillian burns Andre and Dorcas alive, but she is never tried for the incident. It is revealed that Gillian currently has a teaching job.
She wrote a book I read in high school called Black Water, about the true story of Senator Ted Kennedy who drove into a river while ludicrously intoxicated and with a young girl of no consequence as his passenger in the car. He gets himself out of car and lives, but she drowns within it. He received no punishment and this was, for the most part, covered up. Succession on HBO also had an episode that paid homage to this dark bit of American history (for a fun bit of trivia).
Anyway, she’s a great writer and captures these little vignettes on human nature in really intriguing ways. I recommend you read her work. In fact, this makes me feel like perhaps I should give that book a reread as well.

Musk isnt selling culture; and he brought twitter precisely because he uses it all day. To use your analogy, musk bought into a weed-selling operation, but instead of just selling it or at least smoking the high quality stuff, he mixes ditch-weed with paint thinner and huffs that. Musk is absorbed by the social media hate machine way more than the average user.
You've misinterpreted what I said. There is a difference in using and being hooked you've dismissed that Joyce is explaining. Musk is not giving condolences but is giving opinions, not sharing joy with others but swinging markets and so forth. He bought Twitter because he wanted to control the platform out something, but I'm no expert in defining his character. You probably know Musk better than I, because I stopped listening to him long ago.

I think if we use that big ball of slightly wrinkled goop between our left ear and right ear, we might infer that she is simply supplying a list of hobbies and interests which people generally all have at least a few of. We might then use something called imagination to further supplement this list with unreferenced items in the original tweet because a thorough recounting might lose in spirit a bit of its charm with that style of execution
sport is indeed a generic example of a person's interest. probably billions of people enjoy sports, if you include all of them (hell, even just futbol).
