For the second year in a row, the US government under President Donald Trump has denied diplomatic visas for Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas and other Palestinian officials — a move condemned by the PA and outside critics as counter to international peace efforts.

Abbas, who leads both the PA and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), was to attend meetings at the United Nations in New York City next week, but the move by the US State Department means he will have to deliver remarks and participate in meetings via video link.

In a statement, the foreign ministry of the PA called the refusal of visas “an unjustified measure that runs counter to efforts to rebuild trust, develop Palestinian-US relations, and create the necessary political climate for implementing the two-state solution and achieving peace and stability.”

Why is the UN still in the US?

[–] EtAl@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 weeks ago

Because New York hasn't revolted yet

USA is a terrorist state and must be dismantled.

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Good news: it will collapse.

Not fast enough

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Russia has been holding on in a similar state for quite a while now

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Rome was neither built nor fell in a day. Russia is out of gas. They are conscripting people to die in Ukraine. You are witnessing an empire in collapse.

Hang on a minute, I'm using that.

How the fuck is this valid? The UN HQ and surrounding land should be should be a principality allowing anyone to go there.

Petty US government bullshit.

The USA wants total control, because a permanent seat wasn't enough and they think WWIII is impossible.

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Nope, it wants anarchy. They want to destroy America and the Union so that they can take over and create a fascist theocracy using their mindboggling wealth and influence in order to never have to bother with elections or rule of law again.

When they talk about the "good old times" they're talking about the 1600s.

anarchy79 is warning us that the fascists want anarchy 🤔

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

I'm dyslectic. I misspelled arachny.

[–] DanceMomsSavedMe@lemmy.zip 13 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

This is fucking horrible. Surely the UN has some pull to get these people in?

[–] emergencyfood@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 weeks ago

They'll still attend by videocall. It's just the US being petty.

[–] rumimevlevi@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 weeks ago

No the UN doesn't

[–] FlyingCircus@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Death to US imperialism and US-led genocide.

[–] Mrkawfee@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

What's funny is that Abbas is a Zionist bootlicker who does whatever he's told but even that isn't enough humiliation for the Epstein class.

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 weeks ago

even that isn't enough humiliation for the Epstein class

Well, naturally. Epstein was a mossad asset. Anyone who's been to one of his parties, Israel has so much kompromat on, they'll do whatever's necessary to appease their masters.

[–] rumimevlevi@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago

That's how traitors are always treated . Nobody respect them

Cuba Once Again Denies American Officials Visas to Attend Guantánamo Torture

Oh no wait. Can we all agree that the UN should not be within US borders or under US jurisdiction. If that means moving it, so be it.

But the UN as an organisation is arguably acting as intended as a purpose-built tool to impose the hegemony of the US, UK, Russia and China

[–] Bla@lemmy.cafe 5 points 2 weeks ago

Boycott America I guess.

[–] BeatTakeshi@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

~~America~~ Israel first

[–] Iusedtobeanalien@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

pathetic behaviour from the epstein network regime once again

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I mean the Epstein thing was likely coordinated by Mossad so no surprises there.

[–] rumimevlevi@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago

Traitors are not respect neither by the colonized and neither by the colonizers and their enablers

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Europe should make their own U.N.
