Holden and Janeway were my first thoughts.
Janeway replicates her coffee.

Travis McGee books by John D. MacDonald.
The Deep Blue Goodbye, with an intro by Lee Child.
Trav lives on a houseboat he won in a poker game. He lives a care-free beach bum life in Ft. Lauderdale. Every once in a while, the cash reserves get low and Trav has to go out and find someone who has been robbed but can't go to the police.
I looked up who reacher is inspired by or based on and Travis McGee is one of the characters as well as Spenser and Sherlock Holmes
You might as well go back to the beginning.
For actual literature try Dashiell Hammett. He was an authentic Pinkerton detective before turning to writing. His nameless detective, The Continental Op, appears in 'Red Harvest' and 'The Dain Curse' plus a number of short stories.
Pulp heroes who had monthly adventures include The Shadow and Doc Savage. Doc was a 7 foot tall polymath with a secret gold mine in South america.
These are such a fun read.
If you want to branch out but keep the coffee, the Aubrey-Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian. There are coffee jokes all through it. Also pretty much the best novels ever.

Im reading Vixen 03 by him right now! There's mention of coffee in the book. Also, The Drifter by Nick Petrie has coffee in the book too.
I read some of Jo Nesbo's thrillers and the protagonist drinks so much coffee that I got squirrelly just from reading it.
I enjoyed the Red Breast. Its about nazis and his detective Harry Hole solves a murder involving nazis or something. He's very detailed in his writing.

Not the coffee thing but John Le Carre has a great series of books that are kind of the spy version of Reacher's army persona.
I like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Kinda slow but good.

I see it often that a specific question is posed with a clear direction and people completely ignore the premise. The post gets filled with the same 7 answers over and over which all are missing the point or propose something that was explicitly stated in the op as already tried or excluded in another way.
Reads to me often as: "Nice post but why isn't it about me and what I find interesting?"

There weren't many comments when I commented so there's a bit of giving OP something to work with rather than an empty advice request post.
Read past the title and you'll see OP listed other qualities they like in Reacher. It's not hard to imagine that they might appreciate a good suggestion based on those.
I've read past the title and coffee was specified 2 more times.
It seems to be a question about some very niche and narrow topic so I would like to know why that is completely ignored.
What an odd question.
Did you know that you can just add that a fictional character loves coffee to your head cannon, even if coffee is never mentioned once in the text? Nobody can stop you, and no one will know because itβs all fiction in your head.
Maybe they enjoy reading about character enjoying things that they themselves enjoy.
Its not too hard to understand that.
