Really like the look. Except all the textures and little details on Young Link's hat (and outfit). For some reason that sticks out as overdoing it, and ends up kinda ugly.

But yeah, seems like a pretty direct remake. The visuals have evolved so much that it feels different while staying very close to the original. I love the addition of a sprint. A jump button doesn't feel necessary, but might be nice in practice. If you didn't already like OoT tho, I don't think this will change your mind.

Another change they mentioned was that the day/night cycle continues even in towns now. I actually don't like that. There was always that little bit of peace when I'd arrive in town before sunset. I don't love day cycles in general, in OoT and most games it's usually just annoying and worse looking at night.

I appreciate the detail that you can see where his fingers go as he plays the ocarina. Combined with them selling one (albeit probably a cheaply made poor quality instrument?), that's kinda cool.

Glad to see the price is mostly reasonable.

I am not sure what to think of the style they went with. I get some uncanny valley feeling from it? Parts of it look a bit off, other look good, but all of it look a bit out of place? Maybe I am just too used to the original.

It seems to capture the original aesthetic pretty well, except for the characters which look a bit plasticky (and hair look very low quality).
I still feel it's unnecessary, but that's how I feel about most remakes.
Also I expected it to be $50 like Star Fox, being a remake of an N64 game.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is already my favorite video game, so a remake wasn't something I really wanted honestly. The 3DS remake was fine, but I always preferred the N64 version. BUT after seeing this new game in action, I am sold. They got me. This looks phenomenal and I'm so thrilled. I only hope I can change the spoken dialogue to French like with BOTW and TOTK.

I feel like the style is caught in limbo trying to please too many crowds and feels like it’s lacking a bit of identity. I may think otherwise when playing it later.

Yup 3ds version was my final buy.

Well, I'm going to have to get a stupid Switch 2 for my wife now. (Not because she's bothering me to get this for her, but because I want to get this for her).

I haven't played Ocariana of Time yet. I have never played a 3D Zelda if i think about it, but every single Top-Down Zelda, even the multiplayer. So was never in the mood to play a 3D Zelda, in some cases like botw i don't even think to like the game. But i could have fun with a Ocarina of Time game. But this remake isn't that convincing for me to pick it up. I mean i could have played this game for years already, but the new ones artstyle is sometimes good and some part are kind ugly. So doesn't convice me that much...

Played Ocarina of Time like 90% of the way on 3DS. I wonder if this would be worth it for me.

I was hoping they'd go in a FF7 Remake direction with it. Ah well. Amazon's selling it for $60 physical, so I'm willing to get it for that.

It's such a weird feeling as a long time Zelda fan who absolutely vehemently hates this. It boggles my mind that everyone seems to love it. It just feels like slop to me. The art direction is "make it hyper realistic" and yet everyone seems to feel like its some cutesy toy effect? It seems to me like they couldn't decide whether they wanted to do a remake or a remaster. The models and animation are 1:1 but the mechanics are changed and everything looks like an unreal engine demo. The castle town was the best part but man the vibes are wrong. Zelda games almost always have a cohesive, distinct artistic style. I would have loved something weird and fresh.

NGL though the creepy mix of childish and realistic will probably hit hard for MM.

Looks pretty good, honestly. It seems to be going for an ultra-cinematic dream. Feels like that adequately captures the memory of OoT, which seems to be what they're going for with this round of remakes.

But I hate the voice acting. I'd be fine if they voice-acted the game, but they've inserted so much dialogue in. The guards yelling in the back of the scene where Ganondorf kidnaps Zelda fuckin ruined it for me man. The stillness and the score of that original moment... fuck.

3DS remake is way too bright, but it's still kinda the best remake of that. I do hope they bring something like that to HD soon, quite frankly.

I'm not buying a switch 2 and I'm not buying yet another fucking Nintendo remake, least of all at full price. lmk when it hits the emu scene, meanwhile I'm playing the Dusk TP decompile
