I remember the AIG debacle and how Obama went ape shit to get the money back even though the payouts were contractual obligations to AIGs employees.

Honestly this seems an easy win for them in court, even if it's a PR nightmare.
Consoles are not essential goods, so if you were willing to pay the inflated price, it doesn't matter if it was inflated because the manufacturer wanted a bigger margin or because your president is an idiot.
Companies set the prices to maximize profit, so it's not like the previous price was lower because they love us, it was the price where they thought sales×margins were bigger given the circumstances.
I don’t blame companies for this at all. The republicans did this.
