This community (now) exists as a pressure valve, a place to process through humor the often frustrating world of conservative politics. Above all, this is NOT the place for serious conservative support/viewpoints/arguments. There are other places on Lemmy for that if you desire it.

Parody With Purpose: This is a space for humorous takes on conservative politics. We welcome satire, but draw the line at content that promotes racism, sexism, homophobia, or other forms of bigotry.
Memes Over Manifestos: This community focuses on humor and parody, not serious political debate. There are plenty of spaces for earnest conservative discussion, this isn’t one of them.
Highlight Contradictions: Sometimes the best content points out inconsistencies and hypocrisies in conservative talking points. Creative commentary is encouraged.
Public Figures Fair Game: Politicians and pundits can be satirized, but no targeting of private individuals, doxxing, or harassment.
Children of public figures under the age of 14 are also off-limits, a 16 year old has enough free agency to break with or adopt their parents views. An 8 year old kid doesn't.
No News Zone: Memes only, news or other serious content should be sent to the nearest relevant comm. Meme's of current events, however, are encouraged.
Clear Satire: Make your satirical intent reasonably clear. We’re here to mock bad ideas, not accidentally spread them. If you're unsure how it will be taken, feel free to DM the mod team ahead of time or explicitly tag it as satire in the body.
A note on ChadMcTruth: Chad's content is 100% satire, but his work can sometimes be hard to tell, but if he posted it be assured, its satire.

Most conservative talking heads are well aware of what filth they are pushing, they're just grifters.
Maybe that's why felon musk said empathy is the downfall of western civilization.
I came to say this indeed. It's the exact thing that makes people a conservative: complete and utter lack of empathy.
I wouldn't wish it on anyone said man who wished it on other people.
One could argue it's about the only truly consistent thing. Their beliefs change at the whim of whoever they've attached themselves to.

I don't condone what ICE is doing at all, I think it's wrong even when they turn on their own, but if you're going to live by the sword, then you may well die by the sword.

I've thought about working correctional nursing because I love the population but I don't think I could stomach how they get treated. Psych is bad enough sometimes but at least the stated goal there is actually improving people's lives (with admittedly variable degrees of success). ICE has to just be unconsciensable. I can barely even imagine the working end I'm sure the ass end is terrifying.
you'd probably rather enjoy it. gran did. she got to offer humanity to the inmates she worked with, and they appreciated it. didn't have a problem with a single inmate the entire time she was there, the way she told it.
Eh forensic psych was not great. At a certain point people start asking you to help cover shit up. Not that that's never happened in psych but hospitals tend to have easier to navigate reporting systems.
that is a very good point. psych might be a little different, gran was an RN. Most of my exposure to the psych end of prison/hospital was the CNA sitting at the end of the room in the hospital, reading a book and collecting a third shift, making sure the patient didn't have some kind of outburst or behavior. occasionally flanked by corrections officers (who the nurses would have to make behave on occasion) when said patient was an inmate.
I was thinking of trying just so these people have one compassionate person at least.
I guess the question is are we going to let conservatives run this nation so far into the ground that we have to repeat the thing where U.S. soldiers made German citizens view concentration camps and help bury the bodies to make conservatives understand the error of their fascist ways?
