Sad story, but I kind of lost my favorite. It used to be Dunsparce, but they ruined it for me with the new evolution. I honestly wish they would leave old lines just be.
Anyways, now it's probably Espeon and Umbreon. The best legendary is Lugia. But I'm also super partial to the GC games.
Togepi. Just too dang cute. I had the little animated figure. Maybe still do somewhere… And Psyduck since he’s basically my spirit animal.
Crobat love the look and theme.
Chimchar! I’m not even a Pokémon player but It tried Diamond on the NDS and it was my starter and I’ve never forgotten. Bought a junk Chimchar card cheap (or maybe they just gave it to me) and I have a plushie.

Shaymin is definitely in the top 3 of all legendaries! It's got a cute hedgehog form and a brave deer form
My favorite of all time is Psyduck because I identify with him and frequently have to control myself from freaking out when minor things go wrong.
I also like Squirtle and Turtwig lines.
Pokopia is easily my favorite game in the series too, just because it lets you work together instead of battling, and it made me appreciate some others like Ditto or Piplup.

Similar thing with me for Espurr. It's just a little guy trying to keep everything together!
Trevenant by a wide margin. Followed by Pumpkaboo.
For some reason my favorite is Seviper. I had a metal tazo as a kid with him and he had this derpy look. It grew on me and I try to put him into my team whenever I play the game. He sucks though.

If you're not sure what your favorites are (given there are so many), there are some cool tools to help decide.
https://www.dragonflycave.com/favorite.html in particular, lets you sort through big groups of them to narrow it down. If you're consistent about transitive preferences then it should be right, but of course it's all too subjective to be consistent.
https://cajunavenger.github.io/ is another neat one that encourages you to choose favorites by gen and type, then pick from those winners. Also a fun way to do it, but then some things that are too similar can "knock out" one another too early.
I just did tier lists for each region and found my favourites are usually at the top of those
Rockruff is my favorite, but I’m not into any of its evolutions. I remember getting Rockruff for the first time in that extra area in Sword and Shield. I was wandering around leveling it and a bunch of Pokémon from level one as a break from the main story. I was so upset when I beat the main story and suddenly everything everywhere was level sixty. I never played Sword and Shield again after that. Boo!
Changes depending on when I try to figure it up, but generally something like:

- Scizor
- Metagross
- Gyarados
- Nidoking
- Zapdos
- Starmie
- Dragapult
- Tapu Koko
Past the first 4 or 5, there's another two dozen or so that I'd say are in a similar tier for me.
Bulbasaur. When it didn't want to evolve, I felt that in my soul and I have loved that silly little guy ever since.
