I can't put it into words but I also noticed it. What exactly are the smell changes? Not as in, boyish to girlish, I mean moreso chemically.
I know it's E or anti-androgens doing it, but what exactly?

I guess it's just a different composition of the sweat or something?
It really is a trip to discover all the sensory changes a person goes through with hrt. And it happens with testosterone as well. I've had extended interactions with a decent number of trans folks from before they started to a couple of years in, and there's always this tipping point where scent changes noticeably.
Even when I was still smoking, I could pick it up. I did notice that the shift hit my detection sooner for trans men. Not sure if that's because testosterone works faster in that regard, or if the scents caused in trans women are just subtler at first, but it's a cool thing to be around
i suspect the source of the smell being bacteria is what makes it different. like going from testosterone to estrogen you need to wait for the man smell bacteria to die out, whereas going from estrogen to testosterone it will have a big bloom and start smelling quickly, or something like that. i know for me it took a while for my scent to change, like 6 or 7 months of estrogen before i noticed anything. for a minute there i was worried i just wouldnt get the smell changes, but i definitely have them now.
It's funny, because I noticed the smell changes before anything else. I don't know if I have a really good sense of smell, if I did something that helped the change along, or if I'm just built different.
who knows its probably complicated. i know i had a pretty powerful odor before, so maybe that had something to do with it taking a while for me. i had to wash regularly and use deodorant every day or i would smell really bad. a lot of days the deodorant would barely even help, especially if i got sweaty at all.
Gosh, it's so much better now that I don't smell like ass 12 hours after showering+deodorant.
It's so fucking weird how much I enjoy my own smell now. I'm glad to hear that it's not just me.
i have a dress ive been wearing to laze around at home. i havent washed it in a while... it smells so nice im just luxuriating in my own stink.

Didn't happen for me, 23 months on e :(

Maybe you're making assumptions, and it was intended to read like a cry to the heavens!
"Why does it smell like a girl? Oh Might! Because it's mine!!!"
