Never been before. Going with 2 friends tomorrow for 4 days. We will probably drink a lot and see culture things while hungover.

I like anything really. Communist or not. Keen to see some good art or architecture or fashion or whatever. Plenty of night life too.

I'm arriving way before my friends, so I've got some time to kill by myself after I check my bag in at my accomodation.

There's a big war monument to Soviet soldiers near the Reichstag

If you drink, you should obviously try the Beer. If you eat meat, there's a lot of great sausage. There's a ton of small bars and restaurants off the path, and if you know any locals, get them to show you their favorite spots.

Walk a lot, it's fun. Take the subway, it's also fun. There's so much street art and fun graffiti everywhere.

Hope you're staying in the east.

The main attraction in summer is the city itself. Walk around Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain, Neukölln, grab food, a Späti beer, invite random people for a Pfeffi, try not to look too much down on the phone but at the funky streets filled with art, people and someones old furniture.

Only thing I would really recommend, is to not bother with Berghain or any other club that's too cool for its own good. There are plenty of opportunities to have a good time without wasting time in a long ass queue.

Treptow park. Awesome soviet memorial. With a beer garden a short walk away.

The Kulturforum (near Potsdamer Platz) has a large and to my knowledge kinda obscure art museum within it, with paintings from Italian and Dutch renaissance artists.

I went there on my last trip to Berlin on a comrade's recommendation and loved it.

I've been to Berlin like almost 10 times now and have mostly not done any tourist stuff beyond walking around, and it's still one of my favorite cities in the world. I usually go to see live shows of my GenX alt-slop bands when I'm there.

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I just went to the Gemaldegalerie inside the Kulturforum. Seems like the best kept secret - it was practically empty and dead and yet it's a fucking huge collection of masters. I couldn't believe it. Rooms of rembrants, some Bosch, Holbein, and on and on and on. You are a legend for this.

I had the same reaction tbh haha

For more modern stuff/architecture, the Sony Center gave me some serious cyberpunk vibes especially after sunset.

There are many vietnamese restaurants that offer great vegan food, like vegan "duck".

If the weather is hot, museums might be nice and cool. Like the Egyptian part of the "Neue Museum". Many museums or very close to each other.

That's nice and convenient
