So… Elon has the word ‘Tesla’ sewn up. So this guy tries to use Tesla’s first name instead?

What a dork.

Iirc he got caught doing basically what Musk does: faking things in the demo and hoping the engineers can figure it out later. I don't see a huge difference between the 'Tesla robot' and what this guy did with the truck.

Bigger money beats smaller money.

I don’t even know anything about this guy beyond what the headline says.

Well how much money did Tesla get over the bot? That would be key.

After talking about alleged Cherokee heritage, and a bunch of other BS, it was pretty clear that he had absolutely no defense for his actions whatsoever. He couldn't even come up with mitigating factors like pressure from the board, or some ridiculous thing like that. The guy committed fraud, he directed others to commit fraud, and he cashed in the proceeds from his fraudulent behavior. I'm glad he's been sentenced, I hope any appeals efforts fail, and I hope there's some real restitution. Hopefully when he comes out the other side of this he'll be a better person.

It's trading for less than $1, so...
