After talking about alleged Cherokee heritage, and a bunch of other BS, it was pretty clear that he had absolutely no defense for his actions whatsoever. He couldn't even come up with mitigating factors like pressure from the board, or some ridiculous thing like that. The guy committed fraud, he directed others to commit fraud, and he cashed in the proceeds from his fraudulent behavior. I'm glad he's been sentenced, I hope any appeals efforts fail, and I hope there's some real restitution. Hopefully when he comes out the other side of this he'll be a better person.
