So, some problems do solve themselves.

Don't walk, run!

They're not dying, they're just earning Darwin Awards.

Really wish you guys would stop subscribing to eugenics as an own against fascists. I know you're gonna say it isn't, because you guys always do, but the obvious joke here is that they're stupid and make stupid decisions because they are stupid and are purged from the collective genepool because they are stupid. Do you seriously not see the problem with reproducing the notion that political and cultural forces are in fact consistent with the natural world, or that people who are "stupid" are weak and unfit to be part of human evolution?

Yes, anti-science beliefs are not a sign of scientific (or emotional) literacy, and the people who refuse medical science on the basis of politics likely do not understand either topic very well. It is worth noting that the recent Ebola outbreak in the DRC was met with violence from locals who did not trust the medical institution (and this has happened before), which also results from a misunderstanding of what that institution is and how it works: https://www.npr.org/2026/05/29/g-s1-124359/ebola-outbreak-trust-death-burial-democratic-republic-congo. Their mistrust is also earned by centuries of EuroAmerican imperialism and decades of capitalization on the material and political insecurities in the DRC.

There is certainly good reason to attribute more responsibility to privileged white people in the US imperial metropole, but your joke makes the exact opposite point, which is that people who are too "stupid" to accept medical science are naturally inferior to those who do. Can you see the problem with taking that assertion for granted as a "joke?"

I just don't give a shit anymore. Do u?

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 1 points 19 hours ago

Yeah. This is where I'm at.

They burned through all my goodwill. And I really did used to have some set aside for them.

Now I really don't care if they die. Sounds like a them problem.

[–] orioler25@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Yes. I give a shit about challenging racism, genocide, or any other forms of naturalized violence under colonialism and capitalism. Apathy is for liberals.

[–] TootTootComingThru@lemmy.world 1 points 20 hours ago

Okie dokie.

[–] 0x0@lemmy.zip 1 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Hey... if you think choosing RFK's "scientific" advice is being illiterate when it was clearly a political stance who am i to judge... you're wasting your keyboard though, i have absolutely no sympathy for those who show none and applaud any moron who thinks drinking bleach will cleanse COVID because some incompetent businessman - not a doctor - said so.

Love that you couldn't even control yourself long enough to read up to how this connects to racism and colonialism and decided instead to admit that you don't care if you advocate for white supremacy to own the MAGAts.

It's fine to call them stupid, dummy, it's bad to assert that intelligence is naturalized and unfit members of society deserve to be purged from existence. News flash: that is anti-science (and science and anti-science are both political btw), dicknuts.

Can we make this a law?

Partisans have to follow ideological discipline... if conservative, you must:

not get vaccines
Not have abortions
Not be allowed subsidized food or health care
Follow all tenets of your Christian religion
Etc.....

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 1 points 19 hours ago

Lol. There wouldn't be a single conservative left in existence.

[–] benderbeerman@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (3 children)

We can call it the "Practice what you preach" law

and no masks by MDs when they get surgery.

I knew at least 10 Conservative people who are now dead because of their devotion to the prosperity gospel. Problem is, once they were too sick for it to matter, they begged for medical attention, which you and I paid for.

[–] CitizenKong@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I bet rich conservatives aren't. Because for them it's just a grift and they will get the newest stemcell medicine as fast as possible regardless.

Both of my conservative parents died because they ignored their doctors and thought they knew better than professionals.

[–] VelvetPinkOtter123@lemmy.world 1 points 23 hours ago

"By the 2020s, conservatives were dying at significantly higher rates than liberals, with the gap concentrated in internal causes (for example, heart disease, cancer and stroke). The divide since 2020 is substantial: while only 0.2% of ‘very liberal’ respondents died of internal causes between 2020 and 2022, the probability for people who identified as ‘very conservative’ was 1.14 percentage points higher (P = 0.021; 95% confidence interval (CI), (0.18, 2.11)). This gap is not limited to deaths from COVID-19 and is not reducible to demographic or geographic differences between the groups, nor is it a pure function of ageing: previous cohorts’ death patterns in older data did not show a similar correlation between health and ideology before 2010."

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Oh, the regime will make sure we catch up. I'll give it another 5 years, modern medicine will be available only to the very rich.
