Compared to other movies in the “superhero action figures being banged together for two hours” genre, it wasn’t terrible.

It’s too bad a pretty big chunk of the potential audience was trained by the internet to believe a movie about a girl where she isn’t just a sex object is automatically terrible.

How is Momoa as Lobo? I want it to work so bad, he could be a good fit.

Momoa is a great Lobo, which is fitting because that's pretty much the character he always plays. The downside is that he isn't in the film much.

Mild non-plot spoilersHe has two character scenes and two fighting scenes. He doesn't have a story arc and he doesn't really fit in the story. You could remove him from the film and nothing would change.

But I expect Momoa will stick around for a while and he'll get a lot more in future films.

According to reviewers, the best part of the movie.

Agreed. That's the only reason I'm going to see it.

Just because it’s kind of like True Grit, it still needs to be well written and scenes need to flow well and create tension.

Supergirl (movie) is an adaptation of a great graphic novel. They changed several things that were integral to the plot for no apparent reason.

It’s not trash but I wouldn’t recommend it.

True Grit meets John Wick in space

yeah it's pretty much this honestly. The plot is fairly basic, it doesn't open anything up for anything else like people are used to with superhero movies.

But yes it's True Grit with a sprinkling of John Wick.

I was looking forward to Supergirl, but unless the Paramount merger gets shut down I will not give a cent to Warner.

Honestly boycotts work better if you don’t consume at all.

Pirating it still gets people talking about it and tells execs “we have a good product we just need to take drastic anti pirating measures “

Keeping it out of discussion and having nothing around it does more harm

People: Why do they only make remakes and superhero now? Why can't they make original content anymore?

Also people: Only watch remakes and superhero movies.
