I actually dig the look. But holy crap would it suck to sit on, and it'll turn gummy and nasty in weeks of use
Duct tape was my first choice for repairing tears in my office chair, can confirm it is a bad idea

Only in central latitudes. I'm more scurred at what is living inside the foam and polyethylene biosphere of that reclaimed chair.
I think itβs part of that category of things that confused the hell out of me as a child, and still doesnβt make sense today: Things That Arenβt Actually Supposed To Be Used.
Like the time I went over to a rich friend's house and their mom got upset because I dried my hands with the fancy towel hanging next to the sink.

Iβm actually impressed at the attention in the work. Not seeing any tears or creases or folds in the tape. Nice clean parallel lines.
Probably more than $50 worth of duck tape on there
And yet youd still have to pay me another $50 to take it
There's gotta be at least $30 worth of funky tape on that thing.
I think this would be a great laundry chair, and not much else.
