What is global news?

Something that happened or was uncovered recently anywhere in the world. It doesn't have to have global implications. Just has to be informative in some way.

Post guidelines

Title formatPost title should mirror the news source title. If you don't like the title of article, look for an alternative source instead of editorializing it.
URL formatPost URL should be the original link to the article (even if paywalled) and archived copies left in the body. It allows avoiding duplicate posts when cross-posting.
[Opinion] prefixOpinion (op-ed) articles must use [Opinion] prefix before the title. Opinion articles refer to articles that their publisher doesn't explictly endorse.
Country prefixCountry prefix can be added to the title with a separator (|, :, etc.) if the news is from a local publisher who doesn't clearly mention the country.

NATO also said Russia would nuke Ukraine; these people are so laughably incompetent I may as well be reading the onion for news on Russia

I suppose Russia's also dabbling in necromancy to raise a zombie army and contacting the martians to get help invading earth

My five year old nephew has better political insight than these clowns

Fuck imperialist NATO, what they say is about as believable when the headline is Trump says

I remember when the Kyivpost or whomever posted casualties in excess of 1.1M, when that was known to be the entire active force strength of the Russian Army at the time. Gotta take some of this with a grain of salt, because it's always printed with breathless "Victory over Russia is imminent!" implications, like the meme

Nobody seems to want to believe this is the kind of fight that can drag on for another four years. Or another ten. Or another twenty.

To be fair, the war looks exactly like the meme currently and has done so for a long time. Let's hope russia collapses sooner rather than later.

Let’s hope russia collapses sooner rather than later.

The last time Russia collapsed, it gave birth to the USSR
