How can anyone tell how many porta pottys they have from this photo? For a crowd the size expected this photo does not look crazy.

Not 100%, but there's only one angle with that view of the Treasury building (15th and Constitution) and from what I can tell the trees do match up with what can be seen from the sidewalk (and are roughly the right age), which would lend some weight to this being legit.
edit: higher res photo from the author doesn't have any obvious artifacts I can spot. I think this is real.
Logos are consistent, the crap fences don't blend. The potties and cleaning stations are legit models I have seen before. All points to true.

Yes. The most prevalent brand of mobile toilets in Germany is called Dixie, so everyone is just calling them Dixie toilets.
Porta potti on the other hand are camping toilets mostly used in caravans.
Very cool! That's the same way we call face tissue kleenex regardless of the brand.
