piefed.social's admins have had a history of banning people for personal vendetta or petty reasons. You shouldn't worry about it too much.
PTB if it wasn't clear.
This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.
Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.
All posts should follow this basic structure:
Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.
Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.
YPTB matrix channel: For real-time discussions about bastards or to appeal mod actions in YPTB itself.
Some acronyms you might see.

You got banned for un-American activities, namely exposing the Epstein class.
My ban reason from there was literally labeled in modlog as: "Because Universal Monk"
Before I even posted anything. I wasn't planning on posting anything controversial, I just wanted to support it. I found out I was banned as I was looking for a link to donate to the project! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
I think piefed.social is a great idea that ended up not being used very well.
piefed.social
isn't that the anti-left instance where the developer was doing some shady profiling?
Yep!

Vibes, probably. Admins might not have liked a username made of text followed by numbers. It's the kind of stuff the folks running it scrutinize.
They need to get with the times. Bot accounts use names that look like gfycat links now.
Oh piefed probably docs them for that as well. too close to a gif in name - 200 reputation and prevented from doing commenting
Yeah. I like piefed for all the features it has but I came to the fediverse partially to avoid bs algorithms.
The mod tools are lackluster here so some just autban new accounts which they aren't sure are legit
I remember before I blocked hexbear, the users there had a weird dislike of lemmy.zip and started harassing me in a thread.
I replied and after several comments back and forth they decided that I wasn't a super evil guy after all.
Anyway, after that annoying encounter, I decided to block the instance to avoid further annoyance going forward.
It could be that the admin of piefed.social has some kind of beef with .zip?
You calling others russian trolls surely had nothing to do with it right? https://hexbear.net/comment/4650378 hexbears just have a natural disposition to attack people because of their instances
"I came into your living room and shit on your floor and when you got mad at me for it I blocked you for being annoying"
This wasn't the conversation I was thinking of.
I distinctly remember being called out for being on lemmy.zip, and being confused as to why that instance was bad, and later in the conversation the other guy conceeded that I didn't seem as bad as they thought based on the instance.
With the regards to the linked conversation, I agree the conversation could have gone better from the start, I make no claims to be infallible, this is a good example where a conversation happened 2+ years ago, when I used sarcasm more than I do today.
I appreciate you actually admitting some wrongdoing. That's rare on Lemmy these days. Good on ya, mate!
Thank you, I try to argue facts, and the fact is that I was rude and needlessly confrontational in that thread.
I do my best to learn from my mistakes.
every time lol
Your loss
Eh, there are obviously content I miss from your instance, but I noted that I mostly got annoyed at it, and as I sometimes have a tendency to get into arguments before realizing where I am posting, I decided that I simply didn't want to deal with it, and to leave you alone, I don't bother your instance, and I get a more focused lemmy experience.
I don't mind interacting with hexbear users out on other instances as the interaction is calmer.
Oh, and before you feel singled out, I browse All on lemmy, and have a gigantic block list of communities and entire instances, I really should get a new lemmy account that is set up with proper subscriptions and do it that way instead...

all+fat blocklist is how i used to use reddit back in the day. I didn't want to see every niche thing all the time but if i was on a subbed only feed i'd miss the niche stuff that hit r/all so i figured it was better to block stuff i never wanted to see so i could be surprised by things i wouldn't have thought to subscribe to
The hexbear guys are in other non tankie instances as well, including as moderators. I had a problem with them too at one point.
