global offshore wealth

Looks inside:

Hong Kong sees influx of investment from Chinese Mainland - FT

Wait, what border is the wealth crossing? Hong Kong, last I knew, is still actually part of China. They have the whole one country, two systems thing going on, but it's still one country.

They never really accepted that Hong Kong is not a Br*tish colony anymore.

notice the pictures they use.

One is of the skyline at sunset, depicting a beautiful city in the last moments before night. Depicting it's downfall and end.

Good photo to try and subconsciously imply Hong Kong is going to fall apart, editors did well there.

Then the next one is a dirty upclose street-level crowd shot that's not framed well at all and looks mundane, with groups loitering on the stairs. Totally incongruous with the headline of HK becoming a global wealth hub, which you would think they would use something akin to the first photo but not at sunset. The grey China filter has been applied, as the evil CCP now runs the city.

The editor biases are so blatantly apparent.

Gray Filter is common amongst foreign propaganda outlets. BBC got caught adding gray filters on a YouTubers video who called them out.

If you don't have the bright guiding light of capitalism, you're country is automatically desaturated by at least 30%.
