That's their secret: it always has been both. They want to destroy the culture that created a feminism where women don't want to fuck them, so their master plan is to purge society of these ideas at any cost, even the collapse of the state and the economy and their own impoverishment.

The Nazis were never economically viable, but they succeeded at turning the Institute of Sexual Science into a historical footnote and delaying queer liberation by 70 years.

The leaders at the top are just useful idiots. Trump barely knows where he is and is asleep half the time.

The ghouls around him and out of the spot light though know exactly what they are doing and are enriching themselves greatly while everyone watches the emperor with no clothes.

Sure you always get a couple true believers in the bunch but the ones you need to concern yourself with are not showing up on Fox News to spout off about trans people in the military or whatever.

The notion that the Nazis were competent is a retcon

There are levels.

WWII Nazis are far more competent than today’s Nazis.

Like there is an order of magnitude in the difference

Oh yeah, you have to be at least 10^4^ dumber to follow an ideology that lost so miserably

Exactly, it constantly amazes me how we have all our history lessons and yet our idiots are extra idiotic.

It’s as if education had the opposite effect on a certain group.

Yeah they were psychotic crackheads that ran their country into the ground too. Almost like there is some kind of through line with fascist thinking.

Well, method, but still

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 9 points 14 hours ago

Yeah, and they were grifters too.

It does feel like stupidity makes people buy into conservatism, and then fuck everything else up.

[–] Elting@piefed.social 4 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Its fear and anxiety that make them stupid.

[–] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Its the other way around. People are afraid of what they don't understand.

[–] Elting@piefed.social 1 points 9 hours ago

Ignorance of a world with an ever changing social structure, drives fear and anxiety in those who don't understand that. That fear and anxiety can be exploited at large to get people to make irrational decisions that benefit only a few.

Unless it is a master plan, like turning political rap into gangster rap.
