I have them sorted by type. If I get too many more, I might have to also sort by length.

They start to built up but i clean out occasionally and don't keep more than 5 of any type. I have never run out and also every device comes with a cable.
5 is arbitrary but it keeps the problem under control.
Don't let junk take off your life. Every square foot of space has a cost. If the thing being stored is not more valuable (emotionally, dollar value, whatever) than the space it sits in, get rid of it.
Oh, oh, I have serious ideas about silly things: get converters and then get rid of everything but the best cords. Congrats on your new drawer of converters. They're much smaller though.
I always need some old, specific cable right after I throw a bag of them out, assured I will never need to use one again. Then like the next week all of a sudden I need 4.
But I might need them!
Ironically, I was looking for a mini USB cable the other day to charge my old bike light, but do you think I could find one?

Children in third world countries inhale toxic fumes while burning off the plastic coating on those cables in order to ‘recycle’ the metals within
No one burns the cables in my cable drawers. I might need to charge 5+ mini-USB devices simultaneously at some point.
Is posting this to c/theonion some kind of double satire, or are there real people who don't have a drawer full of USB cables??
