I very vaguely remember this one the day it happened. The usage of passive constructions in one particular headline was bizarre. Something about a woman in a department store fitting room was struck by a bullet. Gee, it's such a drag when you're trying on pants and you get killed by a stray bullet. But I guess that's the price of freedom.

Funny, reading through the article about the shooting I didn’t see anything indicating the alleged assailant was armed. Almost as though the use of firearms was entirely unnecessary.
WTF. I saw the video, the cop, William Dorsey Jones Jr., ran in eager to shoot someone. The guy who caused the disturbance had a bike lock. Dorsey-Jones shot him and Valentina Orellana-Peralta without the LAPD checking the dressing rooms to see if anyone was inside.
