i actually stand on burn notice, it's campy but fun and the cia is maybe at it's most correct portrayal in slopular media: an evil cabal that you can never get untangled from. also bruce campbell, who's just a real treat.

I highly recommend the series Hanna, it's like John Wick action, the CIA and the USA are unequivocally evil antagonists and they are explicitly using their secret super assassin program to plant child soldier sleep agents in places to take out left wing and anti-imperialist agitators and just regular environmental activists that are not even militant (though these are only noticeable if you freeze frame on a specific dossier from one of the later seasons that is otherwise just a generic intel plot device).
another fan. dozens of us.
Agreed. I have cozy memories of watching it over summer break on the USA network, along with White Collar (I barely remember this one but it’s probably copaganda) and Psych.
White Collar is absolutely copaganda and also I don't remotely want Neal, I just want his hats. And maybe his apartment.
Same. Psych was a campy favorite of mine.
Looking back, all of the "characters wanted" shows were copaganda. Every single one.
For all mankind. Pumped for the Anti Communist Propaganda of Star City that will nevertheless make the USSR look really cool.
It’s so bad. I don’t think it was fully intentional to make the US look as bad as it actually does in the show. I had to stop watching after a few eps
That sounds really sloppy and delicious.
FAM US: Electric cars, an 80's green revolution! Safe, common nuclear power! Feminism and LGBT rights 20 years earlier! Things are so different that Ronald Reagan was a nice guy who wanted peace!
FAM USSR:
it's 1958 but everyone lives in worn down 1980's blocks.
It's 1978 but everyone lives in worn down 1980's blocks.
It's 2008 but everyone lives in worn down 1980's blocks
30 Rock. Season 2 for some reason has a lot of queerphobia for some reason and it cleared up in later seasons.
The Jenna Marroni character is legit a shockingly horrible person. But Alec Baldwin's Jack Donaghy character is a great lampoon of CEO/capitalists. He's actually based on the real former GE CEO Jack Welch, a particularly egregious historical figure. And honestly, him with Tina Fay and Tracy Morgan are pretty funny.
30Rock is a great show. I never got deep into it but every one ive watched has some funny shit in it.
Fucking love 30 Rock
The Boys, tbh.
I know that the creator is a lib and that Frenchie's played by an IDF goon but I'm invested now and I will finish my bowl of slop
the Ukraine line in the most recent one almost broke me.
eh, it's on the same level of finding hipstery ways to describe bad smells
I'm more upset that they are dragging their feet so much and I hope the last 3 episodes make some major changes to the world and move towards the climax
You got past the part where they tortured a billionaire by giving his money to Elizabeth Warren's PAC and Ukraine got you?
There was another earlier in the season and I just laughed it off because it makes absolutely no fucking sense in the context of the show's world building
Ashley the VPOTUS screaming on the phone (presumably at Zelensky) "it's your own fault you got invaded! You were wearing too short of a skirt!" It was amusing on some level but my god was it a reminder of the vapid lib mindset.
You've got this evil admin that is basically a coup of the "real" America where the fascist ruler is totally hands-off international affairs (the horror) and who in many ways (some of them pretty accurate) is a stand-in for Trump. But not aiding Ukrainian fascists is painted as this evil thing to do here, using the trope that epitomizes victim-blaming where the victim is widdle smol bean Ukraine against the vicious Russians.
I'm pretty sure in this silly world of their's NATO doesn't even exist since the US has all the supes, so Russia wouldn't have had any reason to invade. I can't fault them for not going into that kind of geopolitical nuance of course, but still, the way they do portray it is nothing more than "Russia just did that" no doubt because Putler, and their method for showing the audience how evil and narcissistic this Homelander-led admin is, is to show how uncaring they are of poor Ukraine's plight, and how flat out unwilling they are to send military aid to Ukraine. That's what is supposed to show us they're obviously the baddies. They're so evil and incompetent, they're victim-blaming Ukraine! And they do this multiple times.
Whoever the showrunners are, they clearly have a deep and abiding hardon for Ukraine.
I feel like a thing that kind of has to be addressed here is that the early seasons focused on the horror that would be throwing a privatised military at foreign conflicts, especially when said military was a bunch of superpowered untrained manchildren who do tiktok dances. And now we are supposed to see it as horrifying when Homelander (And Ashley) pull them out.
I just finished Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Not very sloppy, just devastatingly twee. For the real slop, I have been watching Lucifer. Not only is it copaganda, but I'm not even watching episodes as a whole, but as 30 second youtube shorts clips.

I'm still so fucking pissed how they butchered that TV adaptation. Nick Carey did an amazing job and they just threw out everything he worked on to make another CSI/Law & Order/NYPD Blue slop fest.
Tron, the original. I consume it once per night as prescribed by my psyche.
Reading fanfiction from random fandoms I know very little about.
Edit: Someone uploaded the entire Communist Manifesto on AO3 lmao. Time for another read through ig. This is what Marx would've wanted
reading theory? miss me.
reading slop? allow me to sit here a while.
I’d wonder what Marx would have watched were telenovelas or something similar available during his time.
Watching Battlestar Galactica for the third time. Just watched season 2 Pegasus.
I made my gf watch the miniseries and she was loathed to admit that she really enjoyed it. So here we frakking are.
Mostly Youtube stuff, been watching Miniminuteman's debunking stuff. It's fine. I don't have too much of an opinion on it since it has been a while since I engaged with conspiracy theories so I am not too familiar with ins and outs.
I wonder if the algorithm just started pushing him. I've never really engaged with conspiracy stuff or anti-conspiracy stuff on YouTube, but he was recommended to me recently and I watched through a few of his videos. It's pretty tasty slop, and I even learned some cool stuff about geology and such.
Crimson Desert, it’s basically Assassin’s Creed but I can’t put it down
As usual, just reading a bunch of litrpg slop on RoyalRoad
Currently reading The Legend of William Oh and Just Add Mana which both have been great so far (I like it when the authors themselves realize the slop they're writing and have fun with it); William Oh is your standard litrpg 'Did I just break the stat cap and become the most powerful being climbing the tower??' story.
Just Add Mana is your standard 'I am the strongest mage alive and immortal but can't use magic for Reasons & I've been transported to a magic academy where I can finally re-learn magic' story, Cale Caldwell Cobbs has summoned like at least two different pairs of deities' eyes at this point and flirted with nearly every teacher of his but the author has the skill to keep me entertained by adding the stupidest fucking details to the world in one-off sentences/paragraphs, like a magical creature called the Rhinocern - beasts similar to a rhino that are all born with half of a spell in their horn, who search for their ideal mate whose horn can complete their spell, and supposedly results in fantastic magical explosions when they charge at eachother to complete their spell(s). (Basically fucking magical particle accelerators in a way
)
Night Court. Both of them.
I like John Larroquette. The first season of The John Larroquette Show is pretty good but I can't find a watchable copy. There was a few late-00's tv rips on Youtube but they're gone now.
I've been devouring as much non-toxic/minimally toxicBL manhwa/manga as I can get my hands on. It's springtime and I'm gay.
My current favorite is Go For It Nakamura! This series makes me so stupid happy. From the aesthetic, music, humor, sweetness it's such good food yumyumyummy. Also the character outright identifies as gay, which is rare in Japanese BL.
My guilty pleasure right now is "Everything for the Demon King Evelogia"
It's an Isekai manga about a sex worker/gangster who gets shot and sent to the world of his favorite childhood RPG game. The MC is obsessed with the final boss, and meets up with the final boss "Eve" before the boss has reached his final form. The MC begs to be Eve's servant and help him take over the world.
What's so fun about the series is that the MC is a freak in a generic fantasy world. He's crude/shameless/blunt and watching him interact with generic fantasy #34435 is really funny. The relationship between the MC and Eve is actually supportive and adorable. There is a lot of smut, but it's broken up by an actually interesting story about breaking patterns of trauma and toxic behavior. I was pleasantly surprised.
Playing World of Warcraft. I haven't done shit the last few weeks and all I have been doing is playing this piece of shit
Traitors. Which one? All of them. As the adderall and caffeine fizzle out of our bloodstreams, Traitors is about all we can handle. Traitors US is by far the sloppiest, which makes it my favorite. I’m legitimately jealous of Alan Cummings’ increasingly flamboyant outfits.
My partner has an extremely stressful job dealing with extraordinarily dysfunctional people and their problems (which my partner is also responsible for resolving). When my partner has a particularly stressful day at work, the only thing that can make them feel better is non-dairy ice cream and reality tv. Tonight we ate mint chocolate chip and watched the 90 Day the Other Way Reunion. It was glorious, filthy slop. 10/10. Would recommend.
as per usual, Law & Order SVU. if anything, knowing it's copaganda is half the fun.
in terms of content that is so bottom of the barrel that it reaches the core of the earth, I also monitor the LeftoversH3 sub on stormfront
Been watching a lot of YouTube essay slop on lots of random mostly nerdy slop topics. Also jumped back on to Darktide and playing that lately.
new star war maul shadow lord, as per usual with these animated shows the plot and writing is all over the place but it's quite amazingly rendered. i'm talking very nearly Arcane art direction and quality. the team(s?) that do these shows have clearly gotten really really good at this animation style.
i wouldn't actually recommend it, Maul's character doesn't work well without a comedic foil, he's way too edgy. the heaps of action setpieces are indulgent and overwrought, the stakes are hard to appreciate when the important characters die in other media.
super pretty to look at though
Been re-watching Scrubs. Gf’s first time watching. JD is really unlikable lol
Movies. Specifically movies I’ve already seen. I’ve been hogging it up on the YouTube free movies with ads because lol adblocker magic fingers
I swear to god whoever they got making these pulls it’s obscene how good their choices are. You got slop like Mars Attacks! right next to more serious stuff like HEAT and I love it. I’m binging shit from the 70s and 80s currently. The Exorcist is on there! My brain is so off while watching these films and I’m enjoying the mini vacation it provides. There’s also tons of free B movies from uploads and the Mosfilm YouTube channel has all the old Soviet cinema you can shake a stick at. It rules. I’m a pig in shit.
Wechat video kpop fancams and fan edits
i don't travel
i don't eat meat, which tends to be a huge part of these videos
and even if i did, i'm too cheap to go to restaurants
but i love watching youtubers who go around doing gimmicky restaurant reviews https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8eDwKt0sZA
my wife watches that one guy from the try guys eat the whole menu of fast food restaurants, and even though i've never consumed anything else the try guys have produced, I really enjoy watching him either get completely delirious from the amount of food he's consumed, or just get incredibly high throughout because he's trying to get the munchies to continue
