"Dont stop things from getting worse! Instead, let the apathy take hold, and stay home instead of voting."

Exactly, that's the left that J Edgar Hoover dreamed of.

This is an ad for gambling. Every post that includes 'prediction market' (gambling) site names is an ADVERTISEMENT

I mean, I think voting in the midterm is prudent, but we also have to primary Jeffrey's and Schumer.

Fuck this corporate shill and everyone who doesn't oppose him continuing as leader next term.

He's worse than useless. He's actively harmful and has always been.

On the one hand, I get where Jeffries is coming from. Even if the Democrats take the Senate, chances of a removal are slim to none since they won't have the votes for a removal. So why waste time on constant impeachments that go nowhere - better to focus on something that maybe makes a difference. On the other hand, the principal of the thing says yes impeach him over and over again. Even if there's no removal, we need to make it clear that Trump's a tyrant and operating illegally and unconstitutionally.

I still think it'd be useful to impeach him literally every single day if the dems get the house but not the senate. Tie them up with shit and make them get their traitor votes on record

[–] brianary@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It takes a Senate supermajority to remove him from office.

It takes Netanyahu's approval to remove Jeffries, an even higher bar.

Boy this already huh. Maybe I'll have to save this:

When asked if impeachment was a top priority, Jeffries said “of course not” during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday.”

“I’ve made clear from the very beginning that our top priority is going to be to drive down the high cost of living,” the House minority leader added.

“We believe in this country, you work hard, you play by the rules. You should be able to live an affordable life, a comfortable life, in fact, to live the good life, and that means a good paying job and good housing, good health care, good education for your children, and when it’s all said and done, a good retirement,” he added.

I'm sorry but Jeffries' commitment to addressing the cost of living isn't exactly the most trustworthy thing in the world. I mean what's even his program here? That's also no replacement for impeaching the shit out of Trump and all his cronies; we've seen this movie before with Bush Jr.

FYI betting markets used to work when it was niche experts, now that’s it’s a combination of morons and scrubs versus scammers and com artists, they’re not very useful.

And insiders, you forgot the insiders. There's a good chance many of the bettors have information we don't (see for example the awfully convenient bets made whenever Hormuz is opened or closed).
