If I steal your thing you don't have your thing.

If I digitally pirate your thing we both have your thing.

Coming from Japan this isn't the condemnation they think it is. They're one of the last industrialized nations on earth to criminalize CSAM and they do love their drawn depictions of fictional minor characters being SA'ed so much there is a huge industry around it.

The crux of the issue here IMO, is engaging with anyone on the internet.

Everyone's opinion sucks, 'cept mine.

Notoriously anti-CSAM nation: Japan

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 27 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Yeah but the author of kenshin having a csam stash so big the police that he was a distributor? You better pay for it

I looked him up and the dude isn't even in prison and Kenshin is still ongoing. What the fuck is wrong with Japan?

If pirating was stealing, I'd pirate manga 10000x over until the pedophilic authors were destitute.

Stabbing someone in the face for bad internet takes is the same as piracy.

In my iron fisted Stalinist tankie dreams anyone who goes zero to one hundred and starts bringing up the sexual assault of a child as a metaphor is, under the very minimum, subject to expulsion from the party in addition to gulag

This is an account with 6 posts, with a name made up of random characters, that posts in Japanese exactly as if they were posting in English and translating it to Japanese with AI.

This applies to basically every Japanese account in this weird little dustup, too.

For real, though, I keep seeing English posts quoting these weirdly plain Japanese posts saying insane things about 海賊飯ユーザー (pirate-version users), and when I see a Japanese post quoting one of these it’s always expressing confusion about the 割れもの (warez) controversy in impenetrable net slang.

What the fuck?

[–] RedWizard@hexbear.net 13 points 4 days ago (1 children)

So is twitter just automatically translating tweets for people in their native languages? Because that's kind awesome if so.

[–] thelastaxolotl@hexbear.net 12 points 4 days ago

I thought it sucked at first, but then it lead to this big twitter fights between countries and then i saw it was great

[–] ClathrateG@hexbear.net 15 points 4 days ago

So they're ok with pimping out their 'children'?

Japan Chuds be like: "Look Piracy is just as bad as CSAM"
