Rather than dismiss the conversation around racial equality, Rogan pointed to what he considers a more constructive historical framework, one rooted in the civil rights movement of the 1960s and 70s.

“Our goals should have always been what the goals were that the liberals had in like the 60s and the 70s, which is a colorblind society,” he said. “The Martin Luther King notion that we should treat people by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.”

We need a white MLK Jr. emoji that is somehow still recognizable as MLK Jr.

“How dare you teach children to think for themselves!?!? Tell them to obey corporate propaganda or that’s indoctrination!”

Schools teach us to be anti-communist but apparently that’s good activism. I learned about MLK when I was 6 and I lived.

My schools always did a good job of demanding critical thinking and punishing me for not showing my work. I came out with a working understanding of theory of mind, the Arab-Israeli conflict, the scientific method, and damn if they didn't try to get me to understand how to turn a word problem into diagram that I could make deductions from.

The idea that you'd teach children a bunch of facts and they'd just accept it like programing is insulting to their capacity in my eyes.

Maybe stop being a fucking racist and your kid won't need classes on how NOT to be a racist?

[–] DasRav@hexbear.net 12 points 2 weeks ago
