Congrats!
Yes! Hope this role is better than the last for you.
Wooooooooo!!!
Congrats! Special treats for Gibson & the Range Kitties to celebrate!
LOVE THIS!
Bloody brilliant! ๐พ
Amazing!!!
Iโm calling in sick
I'm going on an excursion to Footscray today.
CHEAPER BUY MILES!
Ooooo. Yes. Thank you.
Love a good Footscray excursion day. Nhu Lan for banh mi lunch.
I find it a very sad place, it's like there's been an economic depression there for the past 20 years, which it has since industry moved and stopped paying rates and providing jobs
Then the artists & students and people looking for cheap housing close to the city moved in. A much more eclectic mix, and quite an interesting one. Thriving art scene and good food available very cheap (compared).
Don't miss out on going to the market. The fish/seafood section was AMAZING the last time I was there.
Happy Birthday to TheVoid! Off to market to buy gooshy treats. And cheese.
Called in sick, went back to bed. Have since had a good two or three more hours of at least dozing.
This is helping
Much fun today. I don't need another tote but how could I refuse this cutie.

Also got the world's tallest dunny roll holder.
Spreadsheet isn't ready yet so no painful meetings. My manager is working from home as well so I would have been doing calls over teams anyway. And it means I still lost the import lottery so I'll be dealing with it at some point
Dear sleep
Whatever I did to upset you, I'm sorry.
Let's get back together. I've changed.
same
worst sleep I;ve had in a long time
After being so good for so many years, I think I'm gonna need a filling after my next checkup. Maybe too much chocolate just before bed...
I might just lie on the sofa today and watch telly, try to get over this fever/cold
Ugh. Bad dreams.

Dreaming about conflict with people and that Melbcat is still alive. No I am not doing well
New shoes finally arrived. I've corrected my previous error and bought the shoes with the gore-tex so hopefully they're a bit waterproof. It will be great for being a dad and riding to work
Five breakouts today. Renaming him to Samdini.
Max doesn't try to open doors, he just assumes he's supposed to be everywhere and trots blithely past you
construction noise loud
I wanted to go in today because I need to go over a spreadsheet with my manager and looking st that over teams sounds like the worst thing in the world. But I slept in and it's now too late to head in
No sign of the little visitor today. Feels sad and lonely but is also a massive relief. Iโve been fighting this ringworm for months and was stressing about whether heโs being cared for, so I hope heโs tucked up warm at home and eating well (hopefully with a vet visit scheduled). The magpies will be a lot safer now and there wonโt be remnants to attract foxes.
Iโm in bed with a hot water bottle and have been catching up on sleep. Iโve started reading again.
This is normally the weather when Melbcat would have been extra snuggly or asking me to put the heater on. Here she is in the prime spot in front of the heater. You snooze you lose :P

Tea review. ๐ต
Twining Jasmine Green Tea. What a terrible disappointment. This tea was flat with very little fragrance of any kind, no green, no jasmine. I checked and it is many years to use by date so it's not stale.
Would not be served at a Hobbit tea. No stars. โ
Twinings does rather default to the lowest common denominator - and provides nothing extreme enough to frighten people. I've given up getting that brand of Lapsang Souchong, which is a favorite tea of mine but a lot of people don't like it as its so strong. The Twinings version is pale and weak and has little taste.
Trying to figure out what different areas are like to live in based on people's online opinions is very challenging. The area I am looking at ranges from a really nice place to live (as long as you avoid a small problem area with housing commision flats) to an absolute hellhole where you need to sleep with one eye open and can expect to be murdered every couple of years.
I look at crime maps, public transport and facilities maps. Go visit the area in person. Look at online house sites. Looks at Google maps street view
One thing I really like about Australia is I have never heard anyone ask if a city or suburb was decent to live in. This is white people code for "are there any black or mexican people living there"
Back in the 80s when I was 'touring' western NSW, there were stickers/flyers in the bus stops of Deniliquin (and other places like Forbes) from the 'League of Decency' advocating 'keeping our town nice'. Needless to say, those towns were then off my radar as a place to actually live. Dunno if the League of Decency still exists, but at that time it seemed to be closely associated with the local protestant churches.
yay, new keyboard cover has arrived, hopefully I won't make as many typos now. ๐
