Is this really just stochastic?

  • politician's house shot up over AI datacenters
  • California warehouse fire
  • Sam Altman house firebombed over AI
  • this new warehouse fire in NYC

Psyops to foment unrest / counter-insurgency at home bomberang

or

Just stochastic decline of empire weeks where decades happen

twisted firebugs wake up every 17 years.

insurance claims or workers getting fed up with getting rate-limited by robot arms. how is it psyops, to what end? better screening of workers? they are already stripped naked and prodded by bracelets. and warehousing rotate through workforce as percentages of population, so it won't be better.

maybe a scheme of sf6 fire suppression systems, to just kill a lot of people in an accident.

i honestly suspect if this persists for a low dozens of warehouses in quick succession, mr. congress will pass fair wages for logistics workers act so quickly it will make afl-cia/dsa head spin, because there is no alternative (lmayo) to this, you can't suppress them more nor can you replace everybody immediately, they already are replaced by churn, and treats are backbone of treatler empire, losing billions is not worth it compared to hiring 50% more people

*which is why rail workers folding was so idiotic, three "accidental" train derailments in quick succession would have worked wonders for them, and derailing thingy costs 150 bucks to make, just jump out of train before

Probably copycats; some people out there would really like to burn down a warehouse, but haven't ever thought of it before, then hear about it in the news and their eyes light up.

Decaying material conditions are why we've got "some people out there would really like to burn down a warehouse" as a base state, of course.

Could quantity turn into quality in my life time?

[–] somename@hexbear.net 21 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I think it honestly just is organic. Events inspire other events, especially of similar types, and as things continue to get worse, violence is going to become increasingly common.

[–] Ildsaye@hexbear.net 16 points 3 weeks ago

Violence has been common. This frequency of brazen property destruction, however...

United States entering what historians call The Cool Zone

Put me on the anti-lathe pls:

With everything going on, the Trump admin are going to do their best to control the narrative around their humiliation (futile, but it's all they have at this point, minimize damage and control the narrative). One way that'll happen is to move on to the next "story" (something they were going to do anyway). "Regime change Cuba" is one lever they could pull.

"Villanize the Left" is another option. Once again, these are both happening anyway, and there are options beyond these as well. Could see it backfiring and boosting the popularity of the Left, they are looking pretty incompetent these days, and it would be funny ....and post!

Seems like these warehouses have a serious lack of fire suppression systems.

[–] CloutAtlas@hexbear.net 25 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

In America, the default fire suppression system is suppressing fire. The warehouse workers fired hundreds of rounds into the blaze, but to no avail.

[–] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 6 points 3 weeks ago

Fair point.

[–] Commiechameleon@hexbear.net 13 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

In America one does not have a fire suppression system, only a suppressive fire system.

And all I had to do to see my dumb joke, better written, was move my eyes slightly lower...

[–] Noodles4dinner@hexbear.net 14 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

An adult warehouse will do this to attract a mate in early spring.

[–] Commiechameleon@hexbear.net 4 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

How uh, do they copulate? Asking for a friend.

Candles, incense, teddy pendergrass on the hifi.....

[–] Commiechameleon@hexbear.net 2 points 3 weeks ago

That's more of setting the mood imo. If we go through with detailing... the details... Would planes be a sperm cell? Kinda works like bed bugs.?.?.?

[–] sodium_nitride@hexbear.net 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Why do you think the workers are for?

Yes, the workers are the sperm cells

The boxes are the genetic material

The shelves are the egg cells

That link was the most cryptically and very purposefully, it seems, hiding of the most basic details in journalism.

Is barely two paragraphs and doesn’t even mention what kind of warehouse it is, or even offer speculation of what happened or venture to talk to people in the area.

We’ve seen this aplenty by corporate media: immediately go in to coverup mode bc the CEO too brass don’t wan them proles getting any more ideas. Such as going to their golf courses, country clubs and vacation homes and torching them too.
