I don’t see the commitment length? That info bubble is just an explanation of what they mean by “commitment”.
It even says so at the end of the bubble. What’s your point?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they are telling you that other plans have a minimum but the no commitment plan does not.
We are witnessing the decline of reading comprehension and critical thinking
@Grok, summarize this thread. /s
Dude, if it is the price, then just say it. You instead, made yourself look and sound stupid.
I went in to cancel my membership a few months ago, and they said that it can be done online now. Which is good to know, if I ever decide to get a gym membership at PF again and then choose to cancel it.
I remember when PF was only ten dollars a month. SMH. It was so affordable. Twenty is a bit much. I'd rather work out at home.
It has been a hot minute for me, but I think the lower $10/month gave you access to everything but their stupid lounge reserved for the higher $20/month tier. You could cancel the $10 anytime but not the $20 tier without paying an extra buyout fee. Also looks like it was increased from $10 to $15 in 2024.
I moved to a place without planet fitness and it was hell cancelling the higher tier since they insisted you couldn't cancel over the internet or phone, only via certified mail, and even then they kept losing my letter. The gyms around me start at $40/month so I do not go to the gym anymore.
what the heck is the lounge? Like can you avoid walking through it and do you lose access to any excersise equipement or shower facilities?
The lounge just has things like a sofa, tv, a red light treatment thing, automatic massage table/chairs, stuff like that. It is completely avoidable. I'm a dummy who signed up for it for the automatic massage stuff, and it was usually broken/malfunctioning when I used it >.<
yeah the red light and massage sound maybe kind of worth it but honestly anything where you can't just leave must not be great because after all they feel the need to keep people from leaving. If it was good that would be unnecessary.
its like the fast food or lottery tickets. a buck was easy to causally grab stuff with no thought about it. two or three bucks. ok some thought now.
I think they take a ton of heat on it and most employees just don't even try when you come in to cancel. Two out of three PF accounts in our house were canceled at different times and both times, the person behind the counter didn't ask a single question, just wiped the account and told us to have a great day.
When we canceled, they did not actually cancel. We got a surprise charge while on vacation, which was just enough to nearly drain the account. When I called they said I had to cancel by sending a letter.
I called my bank instead reported the card missing and left it at that. Never heard from PF again.
When I called they said I had to cancel by sending a letter.
I went through something similar while trying to cancel, only instead of a vacation it was somewhere I completely moved to that no longer had planet fitness. Going back and forward with the gym via phone and then letters went nowhere. I finally put a stop on my debit card to end things. I heard they go after people in court or collections at that point, but I was never contacted again about it.
