Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Palm Beach International Airport, which Donald Trump flies in and out of when heading to his Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida, is likely set to be renamed in his honor.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill Monday, renaming it the President Donald J. Trump International Airport.

According to a release from DeSantis' office, the governor signed a bill from the legislature related to "Commercial Service Airports." That bill, which passed the Florida House and Senate in February, includes the provision that "'Palm Beach International Airport,' shall be renamed as the 'President Donald J. Trump International Airport,' subject to approval of the Federal Aviation Administration" and, per the bill, rights agreements.

The older you get, the harder it is to get off. DeSantis has his work cut out for him. Keep sucking Ronnie!

Brave to do this when his poll numbers have hit record low.

I predict June 20, 2026 for the unveiling of the "Trump/Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts".

TIA would be oddly appropriate, both for the region and the guy. I imagine it feels like having a mini stroke trying to make this seem like a good idea.

Although maybe it's best to just lean into the trend for a little more truth in advertising. If congress decides to sanction his habit of hoarding sensitive government documents, they could call it the "Federal Record Authorized Use for Donald" before he gets his grubby little mitts on them again. "Social Heroic Americans for Trump" would be a good rename for Truth Social.

With any luck, he'll get on camera one day and say:

"These nasty Democrats are at it again. They're saying I can't use classified documents for my business. I told them, "Yes, I can. I can use FRAUD. Look it up in the lawbook. It's there. It's a law "

Also, I had a big, beautiful--it was very lovely--airport named after me and they changed it back. They changed it back to ugly, old "Palm Beach," which no one has ever heard of. Just a terrible experience. I had a TIA flight, but when I landed, they said, "Welcome to Palm Beach." I was so confused. I didn't know where I was. I could hardly speak. The whole thing was a horrible, dizzy, blur.

I was so mad that I posted on my feed right then and there. I SHAT myself, as the kids are saying. Now everyone can see it. It's there. They know it's the Democrats' fault. Sleepy Joe made me do it. Awful guy.

In conclusion, this whole witch-hunt is a nothing burger. My day was just FRAUD, TIA, SHAT myself. Thank you for your attention to this matter."

Why they bother with such small feats? Why don't pass the bill that renames everything and everyone to Trump? Also vocabulary, we could replace all words with Trump, Trump Trump Trump. Trump?

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 3 points 4 hours ago

Like squanch, but more irritating.

Do you know that scene from dictator where the doctor says to the patient your results came back "Alaa Din". Feels closer to reality now.

I’m glad we are wasting time, money and resources on such important productive things.
