Jack Karlson was one of the greatest men I have ever known, he fought by my side, from the siege of P.F. Changs, to the fall of Panda Express.

The wounds he sustained ensuring our victory should have earned him a hero's welcome into Australia.

But the government had little need for heroes...

GET YOUR HAND OFF MY PENIS

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 52 points 1 week ago (5 children)

From his wiki:

Asked why he made such a show during the arrest, he said he wanted to appear crazy so he might be placed into an asylum where it would be easier to escape.

Apparently he was a grifter and was using so many fake credit cards that an American Express investigator was there and called the cops.

so the crime was eating a succulent chinese meal all along

[–] SkaveRat@discuss.tchncs.de 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Less the eating, more the not paying for the 100th time

Unlawful repast and removal

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 26 points 1 week ago

Funny thing is he wasn’t the one using a fraudulent card that day.

Dude’s whole life is crazy, including with breaking out of multiple orphanages, writing plays in prison with a notable Australian playwright, and being tangentially involved with the Australian Manson family.

So did he know his judo well?

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 1 points 6 days ago

I mean, he kept talking about headlocks without ever being put in one.

[–] inari@piefed.zip 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Crazy that he admits to it

[–] Cypher@aussie.zone 6 points 1 week ago

He maintained that he was innocent in this particular instance and was bot convicted for it. He did admit to other crimes.

[–] ryannathans@aussie.zone 2 points 1 week ago

Yet it was a case of mistaken identity on the day

[–] finallymadeanaccount@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Did the officer ever remove their hand from his penis?

[–] crunchy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Did the other one effectively receive his limp penis?

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 13 points 1 week ago

One must assume that he did not know his judo well for a penis to remain flaccid in his grip.

[–] pastermil@sh.itjust.works 28 points 1 week ago

I hope this will inspire countless Australians to know their judo well.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 3 points 1 week ago

It is very fine ad libertam prose, indeed. Quite. Mmhm. I SAY SIR! Let go of my penis.

[–] desiccated_event@piefed.blahaj.zone -5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I do not wish to live in this timeline anyomore.

[–] ViatorOmnium@piefed.social 23 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Why? Do you disagree that the video became a part of not only Australian, but also the global zeitgeist? National archives should preserve culture as whole, not just what is labelled as high culture.

[–] desiccated_event@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

More along the lines of..."this is something that happened and we must know about it". A tiredness for the eternal strain on what is already an overburdened sensory overload. I would like things like to have heard of things like this as if they were fable...no, that's not right, there's just too much shit already, why add to it?

[–] ViatorOmnium@piefed.social 1 points 3 days ago

No one needs to know everything. In fact no one can know everything. It's fine you don't want to know about it. Why would preserving anything put any strain on you?

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Do you take appointments?
