I dunno. Watson, while not a bad show overall, feels like house with less snark. The lead characters are essentially inverse to each other. The asshole smartass vs the over earnest do gooder.
The supporting cast suffers from a lack of development, and quality writing. The acting is hit or miss across the board too. I suspect that part is from lacking enthusiasm for and connection to their characters.
And, I hate to say it, but if you're going to base a show around obscure medical mysteries, then make it set in a "diagnostic medicine" group, you fucking well have to do better than the already successful show that did the same damn thing. No single episode of Watson was better than meh. House, for good or ill, at least managed to be entertaining via over-the-top assholery. Watson just doesn't bring anything to care about, and lacks the dark humor to make up for it.
The whole premise of the show is "house, but with Sherlock". And it just flat fails to do that well.
I'm not saying the show sucks. It's an okay time killer. But it'll be forgotten a week after the last episode
