What are we defining as an "independent" website? Independent from who/what?

neocities is my obvious answer. But also lemmy, mastodon etc are good. I wish I could like bsky but all it shows me are politics and furry vore porn(???????????).

You're really only supposed to use discover to find new accounts to follow (hence the name)

It took months to eliminate the porn. I have no idea why it thought I'd be interested. I'm a menopausal lady, I have no libido.

Get yourself some HRT, that'll fix you right up (if you want).

Source: menopausal, still horny. Enjoying it a LOT.

KiwiFarms

You're just mad that it is one the last faucets of true freedom of expression and speech. You can't say anything anymore on places like Reddit, Facebook .etc without offending some fragile ego. The same is absolutely said for the Fediverse.

without offending some fragile ego.

I'm sure this will trigger you, but it's worth a read and consideration.

Isn't that a Nazi website?

[–] irelephant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 5 hours ago

It's a site whoses users have driven several people to suicide through harassment.

They have a thread called "irl tr**n encounters" where users post creepshots of trans people irl.

Thank you for broadcasting to everyone what you're here to do 👍

[–] jefferyjefferson@lemmy.org 1 points 13 hours ago

Great point. I'm not a big fan of the structure of the site, but defending freedom of speech is always worthy of praise.
