"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

It says that sensitive data won’t be included but how the hell would they even know what is personal data or not?

More likely they just hoover up everything and then will deal with the lawsuits of they emerge.

Lots of controversy around Vercel, recently. Highlights include

  • CEO being buddies with the Netanyahu, having discussions of AI with him
  • Freaking out over someone forking open source code like it’s the end of the world

That explains the permissions changes. My account was swiftly deleted.

Jokes on them, the project I setup on vercel was made while I was learning and it's full of mistakes

Smart coders should make a bunch of junk apps that barely work and are full of security holes to train the AI, that would be funny

You say that as if that isn't what's happening naturally anyway.

I think a good programmer can make a better steaming pile of shit code than I could posting my learning to code abominations. Purposeful maliciousness would be very useful for this. I don't know any coders not already neck deep in their projects so I have no idea if anyone is purposely wasting their time doing this

On the trial option no less.

That's wild.
